Access Policy

Accessibility Statement

We are committed to ensuring that our AtoM (Access to Memory) site is accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. Our goal is to provide an inclusive and user-friendly experience for everyone. We have endeavoured to match the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 to the best of our ability within the limitations of the core AtoM code.

Our Efforts:

  • WCAG Guidelines: We strive to adhere to the WCAG 2.1 guidelines, aiming to meet Level AA compliance where possible. This includes efforts to make our site perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users.

  • Design and Development: Our team continuously works to improve the accessibility of our site by incorporating best practices in web design and development. This includes using accessible HTML, CSS, and JavaScript coding standards.

  • Content Accessibility: We ensure that the content on our site is clear, concise, and easy to understand. This includes providing alternative text for images, ensuring sufficient color contrast, and offering keyboard navigability.

  • Testing and Feedback: We conduct regular accessibility testing using automated tools and manual checks. We also welcome feedback from our users to help us identify and address any accessibility issues.

Limitations:

Despite our best efforts, there may be some limitations due to the inherent constraints of the core AtoM code. These limitations might affect the full accessibility of some parts of our site. We are actively working with the AtoM community to address these issues and advocate for ongoing improvements in the core software.
