WMS/Amer.94 comprises documents relating to Andrade y Pastor, the majority by other hands: certificates of qualification, licences to carry firearms, bills for anatomical equipment and medical books, letters of appointment, an account of a medical case in which Andrade y Pastor took part, and official correspondence between him and other members of the faculty. WMS/Amer.136 consists of biographical drafts dating from shortly after Andrade y Pastor's death, by an unknown individual.

Papers concerning Bernhard Baer, 1984, comprise biographical notes regarding his experiences through World War One and its aftermath, his escape from Nazi persecution to England and his career thereafter. Anonymous typescript biography of Edvard Benes, President of Czechoslovakia entitled Ein Mann für Europa [A Man for Europe]. The text is accompanied by 2 sheets inscribed 'Fahrten und Abenteuer in Zwei Jahrzehnten meines Lebens. Selbstbekenntnisse von Richard Turba' [Journeys and Adventures in Two Decades of my Life. Self-confession of Richard Turba]. It is not clear whether Turba is the author of the biography.

The archive consists of two parts.

Part 1 consists of records collated during Billington-Grieg's membership of a large number of international women's organisations, associated correspondence, drafts of papers presented at conferences, as well as publications received from the organisations. In addition there are papers related to her unpublished biography of Charlotte Despard.

Billington Grieg was a keen suffrage historian, and her historical writings on suffrage (as well as papers reflecting her own suffrage activism) are represented in her archive.

MSS.1456-1499 comprise chiefly drafts of essays and papers by Cantlie, spanning his entire career but with the bulk (MSS.1461-1486) dating from his years in Hong Kong. The subject is generally tropical medicine; diseases discussed include leprosy, dropsy, kala-azar, beri-beri, cholera and malaria, with particular emphasis upon leprosy. Worth individual notice are MSS.1456, in which Cantlie describes a case of blood poisoning that he acquired in the dissecting room at Charing Cross Hospital; MS.1459, commemorating the military surgeon Paul Bennett Conolly (died at Khartoum on the Gordon Relief Expedition of 1885); 1461, 1466 and 1463, two diaries and a cashbook respectively to do with his Hong Kong medical practice; 1469, a fragment of a register of patients in the Hong Kong Hospital; 1480-1481, casebooks compiled in Hong Kong; 1489, a dummy copy of the first edition of the Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, founded by Cantlie; and 1499, a collection of questionnaire responses relating to the life history of Eurasian "half-castes" in which Cantlie is one of many respondents drawn from the western fringes of the Pacific (China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand). MSS.6931-6941 contain correspondence, personal and travel papers, medical notes, printed material (including much material relating to papers published in the Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene), illustrative material and certificates, the last also including items relating to other members of Cantlie's family.

The archive consists of a typescript autobiography by Cartland and a pamphlet about her publications. The autobiography describes her work as a campaigner and in local government as well as her work as a romantic novelist. It includes accounts of her work to provide wartime brides with white wedding dresses and her campaigns to enable traveller children to attend school. She also writes about her romances, marriages and social life.

Typescript of unpublished autobiography of Dorothy Elliott, Women in Search of Justice, written c1969; concerning her career in the trade union movement, 1916-1959; including account of munitions work during World War One and her work as organiser for the National Federation of Women Workers at Woolwich Arsenal, 1916-1918; her work for the General and Municipal Workers Union, 1921-1945, particularly as Chief Women's Officer and her work as Chairman of the National Institute of Home Workers, 1946-1959.

This collection consists of material relating to the principle functions of the Fabian Society. It includes correspondence; early papers and memorials; minutes and papers of the executive committee, the finance and general purposes committee and the home research committee; and material relating to lectures, publications, local societies, schools and conferences, groups and bureaux of the society, relations with the Labour Party, conferences, biographies of early members, and information gathered on electoral constituencies and issues in local government.

Letter from Frank Tenney of the American Academy in Rome, Porta S Pancarzio, Rome (29), Italy to Sir Herbert Warren, President of Magdalen College, Oxford, 1 Nov 1922. Thanking him for his generous letter, occasioned by the publication of and commenting on Frank's Vergil: a biography (1922). 'I have now settled down for a few months at the American Academy and shall have time to think about Vergil and repent the too hasty publication of that book'. Referring to 'our friend, Professor [W P] Mustard' [Professor of Latin at Johns Hopkins University and Frank's colleague], who drew his attention to Warren's Essays of Poetry and the Poets (1909).
