The latest date found in the text is 1837, and the diary proper seems to end in 1835, having been begun in about 1808. The book is dedicated to H.R.H. Prince Augustus Frederick, Duke of Sussex [1773-1843], and was apparently prepared for the press, but no record of its publication has been traced.
