'He [Cobbett's son, also William] will in my name, and with my full authority agree to any modifications as to date of Bills and the like, that you may think right, and indeed, he will be advised by you in all respects.' After a reference to the History of George IV, which 'is worth more than the whole money', he ends the letter, 'But I have resolved upon the step I am taking: it is necessary to my perfect freedom: and I do beseech you to do all you can to bring it to a conclusion as quickly as possible.' The meaning and context of this letter is obscure.
