The archive consists of reading copies of tapes, summaries and transcriptions of fourteen individual interviews. The National Life Stories (formerly National Life Story Collection (NLSC)) was established at the British Library in 1987 to 'record first-hand experiences of as wide a cross-section of present-day society as possible'. This small collection focuses on the lives of pioneering career women, each of whom made their mark in traditionally male-dominated areas such as politics, the law and medicine. The project was supported by the Women's Library and the Friends of The Women's Library (formerly known as the Fawcett Society Library).

A bound volume of the coroner's (the Hon. Mr. Justice A. R .F. Dickson) inquest no. 4 and 5 of 1971 (16 June 1971) in the matter of the death of Brigadier Pierino Yere Okoya and his wife Mrs. Anna Akello Okoyaw. Also includes a 37 page typed letter dated 24 May 1971, from Uganda's former President, Milton Obote, to the Hon. Chief Justice, Sir Dominic Sheridan, in relation to the inquest.

Brigadier Pierino Yere Okoya was the deputy army commander and the commander of the Second Infantry Brigade of the Uganda army in Masaka. He and his wife Mrs. Anna Akello Okoyaw were murdered on 25 January 1970 and Idi Amin was rumoured to have had a role in the murder of his deputy, then the second ranking army officer in Uganda, though these claims were never proven. President Milton Obote stripped Amin of most of his powers after this incident, but in January 1971 Amin led a coup toppling Obote.

Pamphlet by the Chief of Police Sotin warns citizens that the enemies of the revolution are regrouping (c1794). A pamphlet of 1795 also urges vigilance.

Underdown ecclesiastical architecture and design collection, c 1760-1901, (bought from H. W. This handwritten volume is concerned with the freedom of trade which has caused the disappearance and bankruptcy of many small businesses. Bruyard also alludes to the fact that the only reason French manufactures are still exported is due to the war in which England presently is engaged and which absorbs a lot of attention and financial resources. The author claims that once the English have their hands free, the French will soon find out that they have little resources in comparison with the English. In the inner margin of the first page is a note stating 'Remis à M. de Montaran, le 9 Xbre (December) 1782.'
