The volume begins with details of cases, symptoms and cures of Nathaniel Bedford's patients at St George's hospital during 1781. The North Midlands Faculty, based in Sheffield, was renamed the Trent Faculty in 1975. At some date after this a subfaculty in Leicester was created. Trent Faculty ceased to exist in October 1983, when the area was divided between three faculties, Sheffield, Leicester and Vale.
