Records of the Borough Market Trustees, including a complete sets of minutes and financial records dating from the Market's reconstitution by Act of Parliament in 1755. There are many items concerning the market's property, including deeds and plans, and a good series of twentieth century correspondence illustrating many aspects of the administration of the Market. Much of the material comes from the office of the Clerk to the Trustees of the Market.

Material dealing with the early years of the Council can be found on a set of microfilms within the collection (Acc/3287/01/66-76). The archive contains pamphlets and publications on various issues, produced not only by the Council but by other associated orgainisations (Acc/3287/02).

Records of HM Prison, Wandsworth. The records relate to prison administration, the prisoners, and, to a much a lesser extent, the prison staff. The earliest records are a minute and letter book, 1847-1850, and a letter book, 1848-1852, of the Committee for building a new prison in Surrey (ACC/3444/AD/01/001-002).

With regard to records relating to prisoners, the main series is the nominal registers (ACC/3444/PR/01), giving details of the name, age, trade, education, and religion of the prisoner, the date of committal, details of the offence and sentence and the date of discharge. These are in chronological order and run from 1879 to 1956, with several volumes produced each year. Unfortunately, there are only a few indexes to these registers. Those that survive run from 1940 to 1956 only (ACC/3444/PR/02).

The other important series giving details about individual prisoners are the registers of executions, 1892-1961 (ACC/3444/PR/03), and files on condemned prisoners, 1933-1954 (ACC/3444/PR/04).

Also of interest is a series of glass plates of prison officers and prisoners from 1920 to the 1930s.

The records consist of the three surviving minute books of the Hampstead Provident Dispensary together with a minute book of the United Provident Institution which is only partly used, entries becoming increasingly brief in the late 1860s before ceasing altogether.

Records of the Union of Post Office Workers, comprising records of several local branches of the Union and an interesting variety of branch newsletters and journals. These reflect the wide range of activities which once came under the Post Office, such as the cable room branch and the telephonists branch; and also include mutual benefit societies and benevolent funds.

Records of Hodgson Fowler, architects, 1892-1920. The records consist of plans of the following London churches: Saint Barnabas, Dulwich; All Saints, Newington; All Saints, Notting Hill and Saint Columb, Notting Hill. Where these firms were responsible for the initial building or for extensive alterations, a full ground plan and elevation of the church is given.

Records of Harrisons Nursery Garden in Kensington, 1755-1839. The most interesting are the records of the nursery and seed business begun by Henry Hewitt in 1775 or earlier and carried on by his nephews John and Samuel Harrison. These include account books and stock books which list a wide variety of seeds of vegetables and flowers, bulbs bought from Holland, and seedlings of various ornamental trees, shrubs and fruit trees. Some were grown at the nursery but the majority were grown by country farmers on contract. The business was run with some success and had regular clients in all parts of England including many titled families. It was the practice for one of the partners to travel round the country to collect payment for outstanding accounts and probably orders (for the expenses for these trips include many gratuities to gardeners). In spite of this and an apparent high turnover, however, clients were bad at paying bills and the business was sometimes in difficulties. New partners brought fresh capital from time to time. The last partner was William Bristowe who joined in 1819 with, a fourth share, the firm then being described as Harrison and Bristowe. In 1833, however, Samuel Harrison was described as a bankrupt.

Also included are the records of Lane and Prideaux, solicitors, 1775-1839, concerning the settlement of the estate of Samuel Harrison, a bankrupt, and the estate of his uncle Henry Hewitt, d.1790 and other relatives and friends for whom the Harrison family acted as executors, and the payment of annuities under Henry Hewitt's will.

Records of Justice and Pattenden, solicitors, 1849-1935. Records of the firm include day books, letter books, bill books and one account book. Clients' papers include deeds relating to property, mainly in London and family and estate papers.
