There are several wills and settlements among the papers (ACC/0976/136-155). The manuscript of chapters 14-22 of the novel Ehrenstein is preserved among these archives (ACC/0976/163). There is a series of title deeds to an entailed estate at Hampton Wick and Teddington inherited by James; papers relating to law-suits with various publishers (ACC/0976/156-171); and a petition to the Foreign Secretary (ACC/0976/222).

Records of H H and S Budgett and Company, wholesale grocers, and successors James Budgett and Son Limited, wholesale grocers. The archives include some pre-1875 items of H H and S Budgett and Company. These records were taken over by James Budgett and Son in 1875 and some were directly continued by the later company, without any perceptible break. The records also include minutes, financial and administrative material, and records of customers and staff.

Papers of the Jamaica Dockyard. The records consist of eight letterbooks and two plans. The latter, ca.1735 and ca.1740, show the initial development of the yard. The letterbooks deal with yard operations in the early-nineteenth century. They include the Commissioner's letters to the yard officers, 1815 to 1829 (1 vol); officers' letters to the Commissioner and Commander-in-Chief, 1809 to 1835 (2 vols); yard officers' letters to the Navy Board and principal officers of the Navy, 1828 to 1835 (2 vols); and one volume of the letters received by the yard officers from the Navy Board, 1815 to 1820. Finally there are two volumes of out-letters from the victualling officers at Port Royal to naval officers and the Commander-in-Chief, 1812 to 1826.

Traité des fièvres. The general title, and that on the spine is 'Leçons de Médecine'. The work is probably incomplete, as at the end of the second volume is 'Fin du tome second': it appears to be a student's notes of lectures, probably given at the Hôtel-Dieu de Paris. On page 416 of volume one, the date 1814 occurs, which is stated to be 'l'année dernière'. Produced in Paris.

J Lyons and Company Limited, food manufacturers and caterers, comprising application forms for and information about The Lyons Club. Dated to the 1960s. Lyons ran sports clubs for staff members and their families, providing sports facilities.

Records of J Lyons and Company Limited, food manufacturers and caterers, 1891-1995. The archives reflect all aspects of the company's history. There are some of the usual company records relating to management, shareholding and administration, but the collection is particularly strong in what may be termed ephemera. There are hundreds of photographs, from 1887 up to the present day, a few films and videos, and large collections of press cuttings, advertisements, menus and even a set of lithographs which were commissioned by the company after the Second World War as a way of brightening up Lyons Corner Houses.

Records of J Lyons and Company Ltd, 1893-1989. The records relate to various aspects of the company's history. In particular, there is a substantial collection of legal papers relating mainly to catering contracts entered into by the company, 1893-1978, and a series of private ledgers, 1894-1921. Also of interest is a group of files relating to the administration of Elstow Ordnance Factory near Bedford, 1941-1947.
