Papers of Mary Edith Durham, c 1908-1911, comprise notes (original and abstracted) on folklore, history, and linguistics including sketches. The collection includes studies of Albania focusing on folklore, 'Early people of the Balkan peninsula', the study of the Albanian language and includes some photographs within some booklets.

Notes on the placenames of medieval London, by Marc Fitch, arranged from Fitch's drafts by Dr Jessica Freeman. Readers should be aware, however, that these notes, although written with a view to eventual publication, were preliminary. The papers include newsletters of the Phonetic Alphabet Association, 1955-1961, and associated correspondence; and material relating to George Bernard Shaw's interest in the reformed alphabet movement, including carbons of letters to Shaw, correspondence about his will, press cuttings and publications.
