The painting was commissioned by the college as a present for Miss de Lissa and presented to her in a ceremony in October 1953. The portrait has been held by Gipsy Hill Teacher Training College prior to passing to Kingston Polytechnic and Kingston University.

De Morgan used it as evidence of his work and knowledge when applying for the Mathematics Chair at University College London in 1827.

The text is accompanied by diagrams in red or red and black. The volume bears on the back: 'Liber Astro/logic / M.S.' Entries on folio 1r are dated 1340 and (in an inscription of Iacobus Vannis) 1383.

Papers of Revd John De Vitre consisting of letters and drafts of letters concerning his service but most of the collection is concerned with his family, which originated in Canada with Mathew Theodosius, Marquis de Vitre (d.1771) and his son John Denys de Vitre, who entered the Royal Navy in 1771. The collection consists primarily of master copies and research papers for Dean's book on the RAF, The Royal Air Force and two World Wars, foreword by Sir Arthur Travers Harris (London, Cassell, 1979). The research papers contain Dean's correspondence on aspects of RAF history with leading RAF personnel of the period before and during World War Two, in particular with ACM Sir Arthur Travers Harris with comments by him on the text of Dean's book, particularly on sections relating to Bomber Command. There is also a correspondence between Harris and MRAF Sir Charles Frederick Algernon Portal over the issue of bombing targets. Also included are extensive research notes from Public Record Office files and from secondary sources. The collection includes a paper written by Dean on dynamics and optics, 1928; papers relating to the development of airships and the crash of the R101 airship dating from Dean's initial period at the Air Ministry, 1929-1943; texts of lectures and seminars relating to the Civil Service given by Dean at the University of Strathclyde and other colleges and entries and related papers compiled by Dean for the Dictionary of National Biography (Oxford University Press, Oxford).

The Death of Yugoslavia archive, 1941,1985-1996, consists of interview transcripts, videotapes, transmission scripts, files, press cuttings and published material concerning the disintegration of the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY) during 1987-1994. It includes VHS videos of episodes 1-5 of the documentary Death of Yugoslavia, and transcripts of eighty-seven interviews, mostly uncut (though questions are sometimes omitted), with eyewitnesses the Republics of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (containing only the Republics of Serbia and Montenegro), who describe their experiences of the rise of nationalism, constitutional developments, civil war and ethnic conflict, and members of the international community, involved in the search for a solution.

All are printed excepting the following manuscript transcripts concerning the regulation of trade: 1)An extract of the declaration given to the Ministers of Holland and England by the Plenipotentaries of the King, 4 January 1717, including a note that 'this copy was given to the Company on 11 March 1718, in consequence of a letter written by M. Piquet, Keeper of the Seal at the Council of Foreign Affairs'. 2) A decree, dated 7 October 1717, on the laws governing duties on butter and cheeses. 3) Decree headed 'Cires', 1719, beginning 'The King wishes to treat favourably the manufacture established at Limoges...', and transcribed on the last page of a printed decree of 30 March 1719. 4) Decree, dated 1 August 1720, relating to the sawing and merchandising of merain wood, transcribed on the last page of a printed decree of 9 July 1720. 5) Copy of a letter written by the Companie des Fermiers-Généraux to Sr. Savalette, Receiver at St Valery concerning the liability of duty to goods imported from the Levant.
