Vanessa Bell was an avid photographer taking snapshots of her family and friends from 1900 until the late 1940s. Her albums provide a unique visual record of the Bloomsbury Group. Whilst the two earliest albums depict the Stephens's family and friends in formal pose, often in photographers' studios, Vanessa Bell's photographs focus on those carefree moments, taken mostly outdoors and usually in the garden at Charleston Farmhouse. Initially, Bell both took and developed her own photographs, but later she made use of professional assistance. Her son Quentin Bell observed in 'Vanessa Bell's Family Album', "She gives us a record of family and friends and in fact uses the camera as most people use it if they are not professional photographers. The family album becomes an expression of sentiment and, to a very large extent, an expression of family affection".

Papers of Arnold Toynbee, 1878, comprise a letter to 'My dear Rector' [Mark Pattison, Rector of Lincoln College Oxford mentioning the 1853 edition of William Cobbett's Rural Rides, with notes by James Paul Cobbett. 'It is singular that the son should have caught the father's power of genuine description so perfectly. I should very much like to shew you William Cobbett's book, and, if you will allow me, I will bring it next term for you to see... I ought to say how grateful I am to Montefiore for the introduction he gave me to you...'.

The Parker Papers, 1943-1982, mainly consist of comments, corrections and suggestions from those to whom John Parker sent the first thoughts of the various chapters which would eventually form the basis of his memoirs, Father of the House, published in 1982 by Routledge and Kegan Paul Ltd. They also include various official related records concerned with particularly interesting or important moments from his political career. They consist mainly of correspondence, memorandums, reports and notes. These papers were all deposited upon the publication of his, previously mentioned, book of memoirs.

The collection consists of six separate series of records, ranging virtually the entire span of his time in the House of Commons. The six series reflect the way in which John Parker maintained his papers, each concerning a specific topic. These include records concerning his various literary compositions, the Legitimacy Act of 1959, Select Committee on Procedure, Speaker's Conference on Electoral Law and Sunday Observance.

Papers of Sir Humphrey Davy Rolleston, c 1940, comprising 10 files of manuscript material containing notes for articles on subjects such as the thymus, pineal, pancreas, carotid body, diabetes, and tuberculosis; notes for the review of a volume on the Massachusetts General Hospital, 1939; biographical notes on individuals including Caspar Bartholinus, Edmund Dickinson, and Jonathan Goddard; and a list of the biographical notes sent to the Royal College of Physicians in 1945. These are grouped with papers on other subject interests, including linguistics, e.g. a draft Tahitian-English dictionary, compiled from conversations with Omai, whom Blagden inoculated after Omai's voyage to England with James Cook. Blagden's interest in antiquities and travel is documented by diary entries, as is his intercourse with fellow scientists, particularly those associated with the founding of the Royal Institution.
