The material mainly consists of items created and acquired during the course of Joy's work on film and television productions. These include the Thunderbirds television series, She, Fahrenheit 451, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Vengeance of She, Mackenna's Gold, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, and Erik the Viking. The series relating to 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most extensive.

A smaller number of personal items, and later additions about the projects and people she worked with are included.

The material takes the form of notebooks and sketchbooks, photographic material, film frames, press cuttings, artists equipment, and props.

The Elephant Vanishes Collection shows people’s lives, homes and communities in and around the Elephant & Castle at a rapid time of change and expansion (2004–2018) in Southwark, south London. The three most dominant themes of heritage are the histories of people, community and buildings.

Projects include; Paul Reas ‘From a Distance’ (commissioned by UAL Photography and the Archive Research Centre, 2012) and material published by UAL in the books ‘Community’ (2008), ‘Home’ (2008) and ‘Economy’ (2012). Also included is documentation for the UAL PARC’s own collaborations and commissions on the Elephant & Castle including; workshops, study days, interventions, publications and film made with a host of practitioners (e.g., The People’s Bureau, Tate Modern and Southwark Council).

Thirty three paintings dating from c1500-1820 with accompanying contextual records. The subject of the paintings ranges from cathedral and church interiors, Rembrandt's father, Venice, biblical scenes including building the Tower of Babel, the Adoration of the Magi and the Madonna and Child, landscapes, ships, portraits, still lifes, flowers, battle scenes and domestic interiors. The mediums used include oil on canvas, oil on copper and oil on panel. The collection includes one triptych, one alter panel and all other paintings are framed wall paintings.

Langford Price papers, [1947]: 'Part II: Memories and Notes on British Economists, 1881-1947' apparently unpublished: typescript draft, with numerous manuscript alterations and corrections, and clean typescript of Price's recollections of British economists and statisticians prefaced with a brief autobiographical account. The UCL College Archives are comprised of material charting the history of the university, from its establishment in 1826 to the present day. Records of particular interest are the Leaver's Service programmes which provide a fairly comprehensive list of pupils who attended the school. Records of particular interest are the individual life policies. Substantial register series survive for: English and Scottish Law Life Assurance Association Limited, 1840 - 1863 (CLC/B/005/ESL04/01/01); Sceptre Life Association Limited, 1865 - 1885 (CLC/B/005/SC04/01/01); Star Life Assurance Society Limited, 1843 - 1868 (CLC/B/005/ST04/01/01).

Individual life policies have survived for famous people such as Victoria, Duchess of Kent and Strathearn (CLC/B/005/AL04/01/02/001); Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh (CLC/B/005/EA04/01/02/001/010); Charles Dickens (CLC/B/005/EA04/01/02/001/005) and William Henry Smith, founder of W H Smith (CLC/B/005/ST04/01/03/02/001).

Other significant records include Box 1299 (CLC/B/005/PA04/05/03) which is a deed box found in 1944 in a Swansea bank vault containing papers of Swansea agency of Palladium Life Assurance Company. It is noted for its many early stamped letters.

There are many examples of Arthur Frederick Shepherd's pioneering advertising work (e.g. CLC/B/005/ES04/12/01/004-005).

The collection contains a few notable films including 'The Magic Scroll', 1930 (CLC/B/005/ES04/12/03/001) which is considered to be one of the earliest advertising films.

There are varied records relating to staff social activities including the Eagle Dramatic and Operatic Society (CLC/B/005/ES06/04/02), British Dominions Football Club (CLC/B/005/ES06/04/03) and British Dominions Swimming Club (CLC/B/005/ES06/04/04).

Also of significance are the records of Sir Edward Mountain (CLC/B/005/ES01/09/05) including a book signed by 1261 employees and presented to Sir Edward on his silver wedding anniversary in 1922, and papers relating to his famous expedition to find the Loch Ness Monster in Scotland, 1934.
