The archive consists of two parts.

Part 1 consists of records collated during Billington-Grieg's membership of a large number of international women's organisations, associated correspondence, drafts of papers presented at conferences, as well as publications received from the organisations. In addition there are papers related to her unpublished biography of Charlotte Despard.

Billington Grieg was a keen suffrage historian, and her historical writings on suffrage (as well as papers reflecting her own suffrage activism) are represented in her archive.

Subjects covered include: women's suffrage, post-suffrage campaign period, status of women, equal pay, women workers, women's education, war and peace, sex and prostitution, international women's activism.

Anonymous typescript biography of Edvard Benes, President of Czechoslovakia entitled Ein Mann für Europa [A Man for Europe]. The text is accompanied by 2 sheets inscribed 'Fahrten und Abenteuer in Zwei Jahrzehnten meines Lebens. Selbstbekenntnisse von Richard Turba' [Journeys and Adventures in Two Decades of my Life. Self-confession of Richard Turba]. It is not clear whether Turba is the author of the biography.

Typescript of unpublished autobiography of Wilfred Blackwell Beard, titled Along This Way, written c1966-1967, and covering his early life and education in Manchester, his work as an apprentice and journeyman patternmaker in Manchester, Stockport, Bradford and Newcastle, c1905-1929; his membership of the United Patternmakers' Association, from 1912, and his work as a full time Union Official from 1929-1966; and his membership of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) General Council, 1947-1967, particularly his year as Chairman of the TUC, 1955-1956.

The collection comprises copies of printed material, 1907-1984, including history of Perry and Co, builders and contractors, with list of completed building projects, photographs of founders, and notes on the company's projects including St Thomas's Hospital, London, Tower Bridge and numerous Underground railway stations including Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus, [1907]; copy of article on the Perry & Co employee, Sir Herbert Henry Bartlett, by Sir Basil Bartlett, printed in David Jeremy ed., Dictionary of business biography (London, 1984); manuscript pedigree describing the relationship between the Robinson and Bartlett families, to whom the donor was related, [2000].

These records comprise Dame Henrietta Barnett's Autobiographical Memoirs together with autograph letters and other papers in manuscript and typescript by Henrietta and her friend and literary agent Marion Paterson. Most of the records concern travel to the USA, Japan, India and Italy.

Volume of published memoirs by Belinda Banham, entitled Snapshots in time: some experiences in health care, 1836-1991 (Penzance, 1991), describing her career in health care before the Second World War, as a manager and administrator in the National Health Service (NHS), board director and consultant.

Papers of Ludwig Bamberger, economist and politician, [1865-1900], comprise correspondence, and a pamphlet biography of Bamberger by Otto Hartwig.

Papers of Helen Hunter Baillie, c 1929, comprising a typescript volume by Baillie, titled A biography of the Hunter Baillie Family in ten parts, followed by a section titled My Own Reminiscences in three sets also by Baillie. Including letters and a newspaper cutting relating to the death of Baillie, and a photograph of her.

Papers concerning Bernhard Baer, 1984, comprise biographical notes regarding his experiences through World War One and its aftermath, his escape from Nazi persecution to England and his career thereafter. Notes are divided into two parts: the first covering the years 1905-1948 and the second 1949-1983.

WMS/Amer.94 comprises documents relating to Andrade y Pastor, the majority by other hands: certificates of qualification, licences to carry firearms, bills for anatomical equipment and medical books, letters of appointment, an account of a medical case in which Andrade y Pastor took part, and official correspondence between him and other members of the faculty. WMS/Amer.136 consists of biographical drafts dating from shortly after Andrade y Pastor's death, by an unknown individual.

Manuscript dictionary catalogue of painters, compiled and written by Thomas Claudius Alleyne. The dictionary comprises vols. 1-19 (there are two parts to vols. 2 and 3). Vol. 20 is a thumb case containing miscellaneous papers.
