Cavalier Playing Cards collection, 1886, comprises a bound volume containing a pack of cavalier playing cards, designed in the era of Charles II, forming a complete satire of the Commonwealth, published by the Clarendon Historical Society, with accompanying typescript explanation on each card by Edmund Goldschmid (1885-1886).

French revolutionary pamphlets collection comprises pamphlets by the Interior Ministry, the Police Ministry and other official bodies in the French republic. Pamphlet by the Chief of Police Sotin warns citizens that the enemies of the revolution are regrouping (c1794). A pamphlet of 1795 also urges vigilance.

Elemens de Finances collection, [1690-1710], comprises an anonymous handwritten treatise dealing with the earnings and expenses of the kingdom - inferred to be France - ("cinq grosses fermes") and its administration. It also deals with financial administration in general.

Photographs of native Americans [Red Indians, American Indians] such as chiefs, warriors, and women. Includes portraits of Sitting Bull's son and Iron Horn. These photographs are assumed to have been taken in Dakota Territory.

The collection covers both Pettigrew's medical and antiquarian activities, which are intermingled in the material's arrangement. The medical items include correspondence with many medical figures, medical jurisprudence (an Anniversary Oration delivered to the Medical Society of London), corpulence, hydrophobia, medical observations by army officers in India, and an autobiographical memoir of the philanthropist and prison-reformer James Neild (1744-1814), transcribed by Pettigrew and incorporated into his life of John Coakley Lettsom M.D. The antiquarian items include material on Kett's Rebellion, Hindu deities, the library of the Duke of Sussex and correspondence with the Italian antiquary Giovanni Spano (1803-1878) and Gaetano Cara, as part of Pettigrew's role as Vice-President of the British Archaeological Society.
