Alfred Wolmark was a painter whose range included figurative, landscape and graphic art. The papers and sketches in this collection reflect the various areas and influences in his life and work. The collection includes sketches, transcripts of his lectures, a diary, examples of posters and programmes designed by him, lists of his works, and correspondence with friends, associates and possible sitters.

The collection contains letters from women involved in the arts concerning their work, business matters, publicity, articles and general social correspondence. Correspondents include Sarah Siddons, Emily Faithfull, Fanny Kemble, Elizabeth Thompson, Isabella Dallas Glyn, Mary Davis, Fanny Stirling, Mrs Morritt, Lady Bancroft, Genevieve Ward, Lucy Kemp-Welch, Madge Kendall, Mrs Steele, Philippa Strachey, Ethel Coffin, Rutland Boughton, Marion Terry, Eva Moore, Sybil Thorndyke, Alys Russell, Lena Ashwell, Marie Tempest, Agnes Hill, Marie Lohr, Dame Ethel Smyth, Irene Vanbrugh, Ruth Draper, Ethel Warwick, Dame Laura Knight, Cicely Courtney, Lilian Braithwaite and Ninette de Valois.

Christopher Wood met Frosca Munster in Paris in 1928. Although she was married, they began an intense relationship, meeting in Cornwall, London or Paris whenever possible. The collection contains a large number of love letters and telegrams from Wood to Frosca, and letters from Rene Crevel and Jean Cocteau. It includes telegrams of condolence to Frosca after Wood's death, memoirs of him by, among others, Winifred Nicholson, Max Jacob and Jean Cocteau, and reports about his death. The collection also contains photographs of Wood and his friends, press cuttings relating to his death and exhibitions, and locks of his and Frosca's hair.

The majority of the collection is written in French, although Wood's letters to Frosca (TGA 723/5-75) have been translated into English.

Records of the Worshipful Company of Musicians, including charter and ordinance books; bye laws; Court minute books; signature book; livery lists; registers of freedom admissions; registers of apprentice bindings; financial accounts including cash books; press cuttings; clerk's correspondence and papers; letters from composers including Richard Strauss, Sir Edward Elgar and Herbert Howells; manuscript music scores including Elgar and Howells; concert and event programmes; photographs; papers relating to scholarships; and papers relating to company property and estates.

Records of the Worshipful Company of Painter Stainers. Court minutes begin in 1623, freedom admission registers in 1658 and apprentice binding books in 1660. The records were compiled between 1623 and 1973, but they include deeds from 1423. Collection also includes financial records and records of charitable payments.
