Papers of Otto F Hutter, 1939-1999, comprise a copy of a letter addressed to all members of the Old Stortfordians Club, the association of former school pupils of Bishop Stortford School, informing readers of the committee's decision to sponsor refugee boys, 1939 and a short autobiographical article by Otto Hutter entitled Sixty Years On, 1999.

Papers of Michael Stewart Rees Hutt, 1962-1991, comprise diaries and papers relating to his work as a pathologist, largely in Uganda and notably include accounts of Uganda Safari, 1990; visit to Uganda, 1981; safari to Western Province, 1962; Uganda trip, 1967. Papers include a report on Makerere University Medical School, 1982 and a paper titled 'Geographical pathology in medical education' by Hutt and I J P A Loefler, 1969.

Papers of David Hutchison, 1942-1980, including copies of partnership accounts, 1951; plans and photographs of 1960s alterations to practice premises; audio tapes of reminiscences: description of general practice pre- and post-war, mainly relating to record keeping and surgery, description of alterations to premises (with transcripts), school and student days, service in the RAF medical service in South East Asia during the Second World War and gypsum 'wart stones' .

Four diaries of Bernard Hunt, 1896-1899, giving an account of his experiences in Peru as a mining engineer; extracts from the diaries by his son, Philip B Hunt, 1986.

Typescript account of his service in France and with A Battery, 190 Bde, Royal Field Artillery, 8 Jun 1917 and 1 Mar-5 Apr 1918, notably action at Messines, 8 Jun 1917, and the defence of Bucquoy, Mar 1918, including copies of extracts from his diary, with particular reference to the death of Maj Geoffrey Neame, written in [1964-1982].

The archive consists of birth and marriage certificates (1876-1880); film, theatre and publishers' contracts for EM Hull's works (1919-1956); one photograph thought to be EM Hull in her wedding dress (one of the only known photographs of the author) (c.1900); one copy of Sir Walter Scott's Poetical Works (1865) that belonged to EM Hull's father James Henderson; an article by Cecil Hull 'Six Weeks in Southern Algeria' (1930); Edith Maud Hull's suitcase; the following eight books by Edith Maud Hull inscribed to her daughter Cecil Winstanley Hull:

These were popularly known as 'Desert Romances' and in 2005 were still classed by many booksellers as 'Erotic Fiction'. The archive provides an insight into the contractual and financial affairs of a popular female novelist of the early 20th century.

The papers of Howell's wife, Mrs Rosalind 'Linnett' Howell [nee Buxton], 1910-1966, include an account of Howell's life entitled, Philip Howell. A Memoir By His Wife(1942, London, George Allen & Unwin Ltd) and letters from Capt (Edward) Hugh Buxton and Maj (Abbot) Redmond Buxton [Rosalind 'Linnett' Howell's brothers], concerning Allied withdrawal from Anzac Cove and Sulva Bay, Gallipoli, Turkey, 1915-1916.
