Regretting that no company privileges are available to Watkins's friend, Mr Frederick Beetham, despite the fact that his great-grandfather was Master of the Company in 1835-1836. 'For your friend I cam enclosing a little history of the Company, printed and circulated ... in 1928'.

These papers are largely concerned with Humphreys' involvement in the development and promotion of Latin American Studies in Britain. The collection is roughly divided into three series. The 'correspondence' section includes letters from a variety of people, including British historians such as Hugh Hale Bellot and historians of Latin America and the USA (1934 to 1982). Amongst the papers of committees and conferences promoting Latin American Studies in Great Britain in the second section are: papers of the University College London Advisory Committee and the University Grants Committee on Latin American Studies; correspondence relating to committees; interview papers and reports. The third section contains items created by Professor Humphreys including unpublished papers, and printed newspaper articles.

The Hunter Family Album, early- mid 20th century, comprising a scrapbook containing material relating to John and William Hunter. Including photographs, postcards, letters, drawings, paintings, press cuttings, manuscript notes, and extracts from journals. Subjects covered include Long Calderwood, where William and John Hunter were born; memorial statues, burials and John Hunter's reinterment; attendance at lectures; information relating to their work and their museums; information relating to their places of residence, for example, Windmill Street, Leicester Square, and Earl's Court; and information about the Hunter family.

Papers of Donald Hunter, 1910-1977. There are two large, parallel series of case files and reference files (section C) relating to a wide range of conditions, most but not all connected with occupational hazards and many being dermatological or osteopathic, as well as factory visit notes, correspondence, both personal and professional, publications, writings, and audio-visual material.

Papers, 1920s-1974, of George Wynn Brereton Huntingford, comprising correspondence, 1961-1971, seminar papers and reports relating to the history, languages and culture of the peoples of east Africa. Includes a section of material relating to the Nandi language and people.

MSS.2968-2988 are chiefly related to Hurry's publications; the best-represented subject in this block of material is "vicious circles" in disease and in general society. In addition, there are papers relating to Hurry's work on Imhotep (vizier and physician to the Pharoah Zoser) and to the woad plant. MSS.6821-6823 comprise correspondence: on the Japanese edition of Vicious Circles in Disease (MS.6821), on the woad plant (MS.6822) and general correspondence (MS.6823).

Circa 5000 books collected by Vane Ivanovic. The strength of the library is books on 20th Century Balkan history and books on the Second World War, although there are books on a number of other subjects including the history of the Olympic Games and Spear-fishing. The vast majority of books are in English, although a small number are in other Western European languages or Serbo-Croat.
