This constitutes a selection of the correspondence and papers of Clayton, Morris and Co. The majority of the correspondence and documents in this collection are addressed to Sir Robert Clayton, John Morris, and Peter Clayton (nephew of Sir Robert), and date from the second half of the 17th century. In addition, there is some material from the first half of the 17th century addressed to Robert Abbott, and some from the 18th century addressed to Sir William Clayton (nephew of Sir Robert) and Sir Kenrick Clayton (son of Sir William). There are also a few letters of 19th century date addressed to Sir William. The entire correspondence of Clayton, Morris and Co. is grouped alphabetically by the name of the correspondent, and those sections acquired as part of this collection cover the letters B, parts of C, D, F, G, H, M, N, O, P, parts of S, T, W, Y, and Z. The collection also includes receipts, bills, bonds, promissory notes, wills, affidavits, and indentures.

Papers of the Committee to Review the Functioning of Financial Institutions, 1977-1980, chaired by Sir James Harold Wilson, including minutes of meetings and oral hearings, working party and sub-committee papers, general papers circulated to members of the Committee, and written and oral evidence submitted to the Committee.

The books and papers of Thomas Bewley Haran, c 1996-c 2000, relate to monetary theory and his books The Monetary Analysis and Bilateral Monetary.

There is also a large series of files on relations between London and the Bank's branches, mainly dating from the period after World War One, which are still unlisted.

Papers relating to Jenkins' early political career, including material concerning the Suez Crisis, post-war Czechoslovakia, the National Union of Bank Employees, and industrial welfare; papers relating to Jenkins' time on the London County Council; parliamentary papers on subjects including the Arts and foreign visits; Jenkins' diary as Minister for the Arts; papers relating to Putney Labour Party, including constituency correspondence, publicity material, 'Why: Putney Labour Monthly', 'Voice: Putney Labour Party', and photocopies of press cuttings from 'Battersea News'; publications and scripts for broadcasts by or concerning Jenkins; pocket diaries and personal ephemera; photographs of public engagements; papers relating to Jenkins' work with Rangoon Radio; and papers relating to Victory for Socialism.
