There is a large separate section for photographs, many of which are of the Postgate and Lansbury families. Manuscript notebook belonging to Carl Menger, [1890], containing names and university addresses of professors of political economy and other related disciplines across the world, as well as the names of principal economic journals. The volume also contains some loose correspondence.

Letters by Thornely to his fellow MP for Wolverhampton, Charles Pelham Villiers (1802-1898) including some letters by Villiers, bound typescript transcript. Also includes a letter from Thornely to his father announcing his election, 10 Jan 1835, a brief biography of Thornely, and photographs of both Villiers and Thornely.

The collection of the politician Neville Sandelson, 1923-1996, includes a series of scrapbooks of press cuttings covering Sandelson's period as an MP, files relating to the Hayes and Harlington constituency, and papers on the Labour Party and the SDP. Sandelson took a keen interest in foreign affairs, and there are files on the Middle East, Afghanistan, Gibraltar and Northern Ireland. There is also an extensive collection of photographs documenting his political life.

This collection contains betacam videotapes and transcripts of interviews with leading political figures and members of the public during the 1970s and broadcast as the documentary 'The Writing on the Wall'. The collection covers many areas of political and social history during the period, most notably trade unionism and industrial relations.

Also includes papers relating to the 1947 Local Government Boundary Commission, 1945-1954, including minutes of meetings, memoranda, statements submitted to the Commision, correspondence, statements of reasons and public relations bulletins. The papers were given to Kenneth Young by 2nd Baron Silsoe, son of the chairman of the Commission, Malcolm Trustram Eve (1 box).
