Papers of John Watkins, from the 1940s onwards consisting of an alphabetical series of correspondence files, mainly with other philosophers including Karl Popper, Imre Lakatos and Paul Feyerabend.

The majority of these papers relate to Prest's time as a committee member of the Royal Commission on Civil Liability and Compensation for Personal Injury. There are also documents relating to his collected writings, his time as editor of the "Three Banks Review", his time as a member of the Monopolies and Mergers Commission, and miscellaneous correspondence.

Microfilms of the Popper papers held at Stanford University, California, including Popper's speeches and writings, correspondence, course material, subject files, biographical files, index cards with the addresses of acquaintances, and selected writings by others.

The collection also includes field notes, diaries and other papers relating to Rosemary Firth's research on the domestic economy of the Malayan peasantry.

This collection consists predominantly of notes, correspondence, press cuttings and printed matter on subjects such as British industries (including aviation, tin, steel, cotton and coal), prices and wages, restrictive practices, and economic development overseas. The collection also contains some personal papers including bank books and university notebooks.
