Correspondents include John Brinkley, Bishop of Cloyne and astronomer, John Fleming, naturalist, Leonard Horner, Warden of the University, John Taylor, publisher, and contributors to the Cabinet cyclopaedia and an autobiographical memoir.

The collection comprises published works by William Prout or relating to him; it also includes a set of the Bridgewater Treatises, 1843.
