Material, 1927-1943 relating to Atkins' research work on Lamellibranchs (molluscs), mainly comprising notes, manuscript and typescript drafts, publishers proofs, drawings and printed illustrations for eight chapters of 'Lamellibranch studies', on the ciliary mechanisms and gill structure of molluscs; correspondence, 1927-1945, with Professor James Herbert Orton, Professor of Zoology at the University of Liverpool, mainly relating to Atkins' work on Lamellibranchs undertaken towards her DSc. Manuscript drafts, proofs, drawings and photographs for scientific articles, 1929-1934, for publications including the Journal of the Marine Biological Association, on subjects including 'The Loxosomatidae of the Plymouth area', 'The ciliary feeding mechanism of the Entroproct Polyzoa' and 'The parasites of the common Cockle'. Letters and postcards, 1927-1947, from Mary Sexton of the Marine Biological Association Laboratory in Plymouth, Mrs G L Churcher, and her brother Dr Aetheling A Atkins. Lecture notes, [1912-1922], on scientific subjects, taken by Atkins at lectures in various colleges of the University of London. Notebook, [1912-1922], containing handwritten notes on scientific subjects including earthquakes, volcanoes, and geographical features.
