These papers were given to CMAC by Dr Hugh Baron in July 1996. They formed part of a larger group of papers which has been divided into four separate collections: GC/199 (Dr J H Baron), GC/241 (Balsalazide), SA/PRO (The Prout Club) and SA/BHC (British Health Care Arts Centre).

Reports and correspondence relating to the development of the drug Balsalazide, for treatment of people suffering from ulcerative colitis, 1979-1991.

No attempt has been made by the archivist to reorganise the papers, other than rearranging the files into approximate chronological order and the removal of duplicates. The original file titles have been maintained throughout, and are given in inverted commas.

The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.

Photocopies/photographs/microfilm are supplied for private research only at the Archivist's discretion. Please note that material may be unsuitable for copying on conservation grounds, and that photographs cannot be photocopied in any circumstances.
