Biographical history
The church was formed some time before 1678, merging in 1695 with the baptist church at Turners' Hall. In 1716 the congregation built a baptistory in the meeting house, with the intention that it should be used by other baptist churches in London. The church continued, with declining numbers, until 1768 when it was agreed to merge with the Glasshouse Yard Church, which would take over the lease of the building in Paul's Alley. From 1745-79 the church was also used by the "White's Alley" Baptist church.

Deposited in the Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section, which merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.
Transcripts of records of the Baptist Church at Paul's Alley, Barbican. LMA holds no original records of the church, but was presented with a number of transcripts compiled by Hilda Marvell, from the originals at the Library of the Baptist Historical Society and Dr Williams' Library. The transcripts include minutes of church meetings, lists of members, and register of baptisms.
