The Bartholomew Club met at 38 Cloth Fair to discuss topics of current political and historical interest.
The volumes were donated to Guildhall Library in 1948, and were catalogued by a member of Guildhall Library staff in the same year. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.
