Biographical history
Colin Berry trained at Charing Cross Hospital Medical School from 1955 to 1959 and later specialised in Histopathology at the Hospital. He was awarded his MD in 1968. From 1964 he was Lecturer (later Senior Lecturer) at the Institute of Child Health, before being appointed Reader in Pathology at Guy's Hospital Medical School in 1970. In 1976 he was made Professor of Morbid Anatomy at the London Hospital Medical College, a chair he occupied till retirement in 2002. He was knighted in 1993.

Colin Berry trained at Charing Cross Hospital Medical School from 1955 to 1959 and later specialised in Histopathology at the Hospital. He was awarded his MD in 1968. From 1964 he was Lecturer (later Senior Lecturer) at the Institute of Child Health, before being appointed Reader in Pathology at Guy's Hospital Medical School in 1970. The papers were acquired directly from Sir Colin Berry in 2005.

The papers are divided into three sections: 1. Biology notes taken at the Northern Polytechnic as part of study for his first MB, [1955]. 2.Course notes for the Biochemistry and Practical Organic Chemistry parts of Physiology paper III, second MB, Charing Cross Hospital Medical School, 1955. 3. Examination scripts and prize essays submitted as part of the 2nd MB, Charing Cross Hospital Medical School, 1955-[59].
The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
Photocopies/photographs/microfilm are supplied for private research only at the Archivist's discretion. Please note that material may be unsuitable for copying on conservation grounds, and that photographs cannot be photocopied in any circumstances.
