Biografie
The Bouverie Street Society (renamed the Bouverie Society in 1889) was established in 1801 at the Queen's Head tavern, Holborn, as a dining and debating society for master pawnbrokers. It was dissolved in 1948, owing to lack of support, when its property was sold and the proceeds transferred to the Pawnbrokers' Charitable Institution.

The Bouverie Street Society (renamed the Bouverie Society in 1889) was established in 1801 at the Queen's Head tavern, Holborn, as a dining and debating society for master pawnbrokers. The surviving records of the society were deposited in the Manuscripts Section of Guildhall Library in 1987 with the archives of the National Pawnbrokers' Association. They were catalogued by a member of Guildhall Library staff in the same year. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.

The records have been sorted into an order which reflects divisions between the different functions and operations of the organisation and its administration.
These records are available for public inspection, although records containing personal information may be subject to access restrictions.
