Before being placed in storage, it appears that these files relating to the British Insulin Manufacturers (BIM) were in the office of Mr Dunnett. This is most likely because Mr Dunnett was Secretary of the BIM up to the time when these records stop and thus was most likely charged with looking after Burrough Wellcome's copies of BIM activities.
See also main WF collection description (ref. 'WF').
Papers of the Burroughs Wellcome and Co arm of the British Insulin Manufacturers (BIM) including correspondence, marketing, production and research of insulin. Most of the papers date from 1938-1953. Also including British Insulin Manufacturers committee minutes.
Although many of the files listed here are from Burroughs Wellcome & Co.'s Marketing Department, they have been placed under the umbrella of the British Insulin Manufacturers (BIM) as after collaboration began in 1941, everything that was produced by Burroughs Wellcome to do with insulin was a matter for the BIM by default due to the nature of the agreement between the member companies.
The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
Photocopies/photographs/microfilm are supplied for private research only at the Archivist's discretion. Please note that material may be unsuitable for copying on conservation grounds, and that photographs cannot be photocopied in any circumstances. Readers are restricted to 100 photocopies in twelve months. Researchers who wish to publish material must seek copyright permission from the copyright owner.
