Clarence Dalrymple Bruce was born in 1862; joined the Army, 1882 and served in India, 1883-1889; wounded during service in China, 1898-1904; Commissioner of International Police Shanghai, 1907-1914 and commanded brigade of Scottish Division, 1915. Bruce received a CBE; was Fellow of Royal Geographical Society 1901-1934 and died in 1943.

Clarence Dalrymple Bruce was born in 1862; joined the Army, 1882 and served in India, 1883-1889; wounded during service in China, 1898-1904; Commissioner of International Police Shanghai, 1907-1914 and commanded brigade of Scottish Division, 1915. Bruce received a CBE; was Fellow of Royal Geographical Society 1901-1934 and died in 1943.

2 volumes donated to RGS by author 1907. Other material presented by H D Bruce 1935.

Papers of Clarence Dalrymple Bruce, 1901-1907, comprise a diary of a journey across Asia in 1907; copies of an article for the London Evening Standard, 1902-1903; account of a ride from Peking to Lake Baikal; and two volumes of a route report from Tibet to Peking.
