Burkitt practised in Wimbeldon and combined this with his work as a consultant radiologist at Kingston, Nelson and Merton and Wimbeldon Hospitals.

These 2 volumes were received from the Curator of Western Manuscripts in the Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine, with a note 'returned from the Museum (? the Wellcome Museum of Medical Science) 1967'.
