Chichester is a city in West Sussex, England. It lies on the coastal plain of the English Channel at the foot of the chalk South Downs a mile from the head of Chichester Harbour, with which it is connected by canal.

Part of the Goldsmith's Library of Economic Literature, initially collected by Herbert Somerton Foxwell and presented by the Goldsmith's Company to the University of London in 1903.

Manuscript volume containing a [transcript of a] speech by the Recorder of Chichester to King James I, [1600-1606], requesting a licence to export grain produced in Sussex from the city's port in order to pay the costs of cutting a channel from Chichester to the sea.
