Christ Church was constructed between 1855 and 1856 to the designs of architects Tress and Chambers. It is part of the Eltham and Mottingham Deanery and the Woolwich Episcopal Area.

Records of the parish of Christ Church, Shooters Hill, Plumstead, including registers of baptisms, marriages and banns; church services registers; papers relating to parish boundaries; papers relating to the ownership and maintenance of the church, vicarage and hall; minutes of the Parochial Church Council; correspondence; financial accounts; and historical notes.
