The records held are almost all (Mss 10190-208) of the regimental depot at Guildhall. They were probably amongst those records deposited in Guildhall by the C.I.V. in 1901, which are listed in Ms 12208. Few seem to have survived. They may have been stored in the same room as the regimental mementoes which were lost in the air raid of 29 December 1940. They were catalogued by Guildhall Library staff in 1959. The other records of the C.I.V. held here (Mss 30650-1) were deposited by the Inns of Court and City Yeomanry who provided mounted infantry recruits for the C.I.V. They were catalogued by Guildhall Library staff in 1996.
Records of the City of London Imperial Volunteers comprising nominal rolls, pay lists, communications, minutes, correspondence and other papers.
The records have been sorted into an order which reflects divisions between the different functions and operations of the organisation and its administration.
Available for general access.
