William Sherington, brother of Dame Mary Luckyn, was possessed of manors and lands in Hampshire, Middlesex, Essex and Yorkshire, and of houses in Thames Street in the City of London. He died in July 1711 and was buried on 20 July at St Peter upon Cornhill, leaving £20 to the churchwardens of the parish for the benefit of the poor.

Deposited in the Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section, which merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.

Exemplification of proceedings in Chancery in the cause: the executors of the will of William Sherington, of Red Lion Square, Holborn versus Dame Mary Luckyn, widow and relict of Sir William Luckyn, of Messing Hall, Essex, and Richard Nicholls, contesting the will.
