Mary Louisa Drabble graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in medicine on 24 July 1925. She became a general practitioner in Westlea, Derbyshire.
This material was given to the Contemporary Medical Archives Centre (now the Wellcome Library Archive and Manuscript department) in September 1997 by Maryrose W Price, daughter of Mary Louisa Drabble.
Papers of Mary Louisa Drabble, 1917-1931, comprising notebooks as a medical student at the University of Edinburgh, 1920-1925, testimonials; certificates; photograph; personalia. The collection also contains nursing notebooks of her sister Margery Drabble, was a nurse at Guy's Hospital during early 1920s (notebooks spanning 1922-1925).
Arranged by sections as follows:
A. Personal 1917-1931;
B. Student notebooks 1921-1925;
C. Margery Drabble's nursing notebooks 1922-1925;
The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
Photocopies/photographs/microfilm are supplied for private research only at the Archivist's discretion.
