Records of J W Falkner and Sons Limited, 1893-1982. This collection consists of administrative material including office files and correspondence (1902-1963); financial records including ledgers, cash books and accounts (1893-1964); and plans and files relating to the various commissions the company undertook (1893-1968).

Photographs from the Associated Newspaper Group, including production scenes during early 1900's; an Ingranic R319 conveyor in the Daily Mail machine room, 17th April 1963; Daily Mail compositors on the stone, 6th May 1963; lino machines at work, 1963; foundry checking plates from auto plate, 1963; Daily Mail machine room, 1963; Daily Mail Editorial subs room, 1970; and production of the Daily Sketch, [1960].

Records donated by the London Gas Museum, comprising some 400 Ordnance Survey sheets of various scales and editions, 1893-1989. Many have been amended to show property owned or leased by the Gas Light and Coke Company, the Brentford Gas Company or the North Thames Gas Board. These properties tend to be gas works or showrooms. The plans cover only parts of the area north of the River Thames. There are no sheets for areas south of the Thames. A later deposit consisted of staff magazines and photographs for both the North Thames Gas Board and the South Eastern Gas Board.

Records of Pritchard and Burton, tobacco manufacturers. The collection contains detailed financial records belonging to the company including balance sheets, private ledgers, departmental account books, journals, cash book, accounts of Alfred Burton's investments and accounts of Edward Pritchard Burton's Estate. There are also photograph albums containing staff portraits (LMA/4577/02/01) and a draft history of the company. The accounts of Alfred Burton's investments are of particular interest as they contain records of payments made to various companies around the world, such as the Grand Trunk Railway, Canada and De Beers consolidated mines (LMA/4577/01/06). The private ledgers also contain detailed capital accounts showing the growth in proprietor assets through the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries (LMA/4577/01/02).

The records of Benjamin Slowman, merchant, comprise an order book 1835-42; bought ledger, cash book and vouchers 1820-50; business correspondence 1823-51; and a release regarding the estate of Moses Lewvy, 1848.

Records of the London Stock Exchange dating from 1798. IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ACCESS: These records are stored at the Guildhall Library site rather than the LMA Clerkenwell site. Researchers wishing to access these records should do so at the Guildhall Library Rare Books table. The Library is open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 to 16:45. Records of Empire of India Holdings Limited, comprising Board of Directors' minutes, annual general meeting minutes and a ledger. The records are held off-site and therefore require 24 hours notice for access.

Records of Cazenove and Company, investment bankers. The records are especially strong for financial records (including partners' and staff ledgers), and the company's late 20th century history, particularly the period around "Big Bang" in the 1980s, and leading up to incorporation in 2001. As well as partnership deeds, minutes, accounts and financial records, they include the papers of a number of partners, including Mark Loveday who was Senior Partner 1994-2001 and retired on the point of incorporation, and a significant amount of material gathered in the course of research for the company's history. The archives include copy material dating from 1823.
