Records of the Society relating to Manor House Hospital, Golders Green and associated sites of treatment including minutes of committees, matron's and surgeon's reports to the House Committee which include details on named patients and deaths (1920-1968) (H53/A/03/03) and comprehensive series of annual reports.

Also held are rules, circulars and subject files of the General Secretary (later the Chief Administrative Officer in 1980s and Chief Executive in the 1990s) on a wide range of subjects including membership, scope of treatment, staff, premises including Inverforth House and the Pergola and Ivy House, regional organisation, funds and royal visits. Also held are a presentation volume to Lord and Lady Hague with original artwork depicting the premises and a book of remembrance presented to the hospital after the Second World War (H53/B/11/001-002). Financial series (H53/C) include annual returns and cash books.

Records on patients treated at Manor House Hospital (H53/D) are incomplete. They comprise admission and discharge and operation registers (1933-1978), lists of members by firm (1931-1993) and bed statistics. The volumes do not provide detailed information on patients and their treatment.

Records of the Society's regional areas and districts (H53/E) consist mainly of extensive series of minutes held by regional and district secretaries across England, Scotland and Wales. The Northern Area records include subject files and financial records.

Printed material (H53/F) includes comprehensive series of press cuttings with indexes, publications, brochures, articles, histories and newsletters. There are souvenir brochures for openings of premises, royal visits and related events, and some artefacts including badges.

Unpublished lectures, articles and reports from Godber's time as Chief Medical Officer onwards form the bulk of this collection, but his wider career is represented by such papers as a draft of his 1944 'Hospital Survey of Sheffield and East Midlands Area' and published articles spanning over 50 years from 1942 to 1995. Although the collection does not include Godber's official papers from his various appointments or his personal papers, it nevertheless conveys a strong impression of his personality, energy and breadth of interests throughout his career. Godber's papers at the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health and Social Security were left almost entirely for his successors, to be transferred as appropriate to the Public Record Office.

Louisa Martindale collection, 1872-1964. The collection consists of Section A: a little personal correspondence, papers, articles, speeches and lectures by Louisa Martindale, and some personal material including notes on the glaucoma which eventually blinded her, 1872-1960; and Section B: papers concerning the Medical Women's International Association (founded 1919) of which Miss Martindale was President from 1937 to 1947. As well as her own correspondence in this capacity, 1937-1946, there is one file of the correspondence of Mme Montreuil-Strauss, Secretary of the Medical Women's International Association at his period. (Louisa Martindale destroyed the vast bulk of her case records at the time of her retirement from practice around 1950, those remaining were destroyed by her executors after her death).

Papers of Dr Brian Gough, 1920s-1990s, comprising personal, professional and patient correspondence, including material about local institutions with which he was involved, and on his interests in medical history.

Reports of Thomas Lauder Brunton's lectures on therapeutics and notes from a lecture on chloroform with three fragments of lectures on eye affections, on the effects of alcohol, and the effect of drugs on the brain given at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, 1892-[1895].

Notes of lectures by Giuseppe Canziani, on veterinary medicine, anatomy, physiology and phrenology, [1840-1845].

Records of the Lunatic Asylum Committee, Court of Common Council, including minutes 1838-1866 and committee papers, 1846-1872, including a number of returns of pauper lunatics chargeable to the City of London in various asylums.

Files of the Port Health and Environmental Services Committee, 1948-1958, on subjects including air pollution, Basildon New Town, the disposal of condemned food, Denton Hospital, houseboats and the inspection of ships.

Records of the Royal Hospitals Committee comprising minute books, 1835-1848 and a draft report considering the report of the Charity Commissioners, 1846.

Also papers relating to charitable funds organised by the Mayor, 1885-1992. Funds include the National Memorial to General Gordon fund, 1885; the fund for the relief of widows and dependants of sailors and others on the HMS Victoria, sunk in 1893; the Transvaal War fund, 1899; the Queen Victoria memorial fund, 1901-1913; the Titanic Disaster fund (later the National Disasters Relief fund), 1912-1959; the St. Vincent Disaster Relief Fund in aid of Sufferers by Eruption, 1902; the Air Raid Distress fund, 1940-1953; the National Hungarian and Central European Relief Fund, 1956-1958; the Attlee Memorial Appeal, 1967; the Save St Paul's fund, 1971-1973 and the Gresford Colliery Relief Fund, 1988-1992 (the Gresford Colliery files are closed until 2022).

Records of the Metropolitan Hospital Sunday Fund. The archive comprises: minutes and meetings papers of the Council, annual general meetings and various committees, 1872-1984 (Mss 30585, 30587-94); annual reports and accounts, 1873-1994 (Ms 30586); other financial records, 1934/5 (Ms 30595); correspondence and papers, including papers concerning bequests, 1871-ca 1989 (Ms 30596-609, 616); posters (Ms 30610); and photographs with associated papers, 1959-95 (Ms 30611-15).

Records of Saint Katharine by the Tower Hospital, later known as the Royal College of Saint Katharine and the Royal Foundation of Saint Katharine. Records include charters and licences; rules and regulations; legal papers; minutes; correspondence and letter books; annual reports; financial accounts; registers of baptism, marriage and burial; banns books; Vestry minutes; papers regarding the manor of the hospital; papers regarding poor relief; papers of the Commissary Court of the Royal Peculiar including marriage allegations; papers regarding estates and properties including title deeds and surveys; maps and plans.

This catalogue also includes records deposited in the Library from the Valuation and Rates Department of the Corporation of the City of London in 1920. These volumes relate to rate assessments and poor law administration of the Precinct and probably reached the Corporation via the neighbouring parish of St Botolph Aldgate, to which the inhabitants of the Precinct would naturally have turned in 1825. Later Precinct books are catalogued within the archive of St Botolph Aldgate.
