Letter from a woman to her children and her husband prior to her deportation to Theresienstadt (includes an English translation).

Papers of Jewish girl in Vienna, 1939-1941, comprise mirror image typescript mimeographed transcript of correspondence from a 12 year old Jewish girl in Vienna and her aunt to relatives in Great Britain describing conditions in the city.

Papers comprising an account of life in a Polish ghetto, 1942, contain copy extracts from a letter by a Jewish woman in a ghetto in Poland, in which she describes the horrendous living conditions. Mention is made of the immanent arrival of a Swiss commission of inspection.

Papers of Kurt Ferber, 1932-1949, comprise a set of correspondence between Kurt Ferber and a friend in Berlin, Olga Bruewitsch-Heuss; material relating to the Kampfbund für deutsche Kultur; miscellaneous contemporary newspapers and cuttings; and unidentified notes. The correspondence is of particular interest for it provides insight into the mentalities of two ordinary German citizens with special reference to their political and cultural interests. From the content it is clear that Olga Bruewitsch-Heuss is a fervent follower of the Nazis and a virulent anti-Semite.

This World War Two Austrian soldier's letter, amongst other things, describes the systematic murder carried out by the Wehrmacht in Poland, and in particular the murder of civilians by the author's unit. The author also mentions the murder of a number of their own officers by the rank and file and includes an English translation.

B. 29 contains three medieval painted rolls of arms: Povey's Roll (time of Edward II); the Heralds' Roll (c 1270-1280), the surviving portion (195 shields) of a larger original (a 15th copy in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, contains 697 shields); Talbot banners (c 1442). Both Povey's Roll and the Heralds' Roll were painted on vellum but the shields have been cut out and mounted on paper.

B. 22 contains three mid to late medieval rolls of arms: Bowyer's Book (c 1440); Collingborne's Book (late 15th century), and Basynge's Book (c 1395).

B. 23 is an early 15th-century German roll of arms.

B. 19 includes the Mandeville Roll, c 1460.

B. 20 consists of 16th century copies of originals including an enlarged version of the c 1312 Parliamentary Roll and the 1308 first Dunstable Roll.

B. 20bis, an early 16th century historical and heraldic commonplace book mostly in the hand of Sir Richard St George (died 1635 as Clarenceux King of Arms), does not form part of Povey's donation and in 1700 was in the possession of Sir Henry St George (Clarenceux King of Arms, later Garter King of Arms).

The collection is mostly made up of prospectuses, calendars and syllabuses for courses available at Battersea Polytechnic Institute. There are also some financial records relating to the accounts of Battersea Polytechnic as well as annual reports for the Institute. Additionally there are several volumes listing the names of students enrolled on courses and some examination lists. There are also Battersea Polytechnic Institute magazines as well as numerous programmes and tickets for concerts and events held at the Institute. Additionally there is a series of material relating to Battersea Polytechnic Hostel.

The collection consists of correspondence and other papers concerned with the setting up and running of Wandsworth Technical Institute and the associated Secondary School. The papers were compiled by C.T. Davis in his role as Honorary Secretary of the Institute. The collection also includes a volume of minutes from the Technical Education Board Committee 1894-1896, as well as prospectuses, magazines and a programme.

Records of the administration of the parish of Tooting. Includes: minutes of the parish Vestry; accounts of the Overseers of the Poor; Workhouse Committee minutes; Examination of Paupers records; and the accounts of the Surveyor of Highways for the parish.

The collection consists of administrative papers of the Wandsworth District Board of Works. These include several duplicate runs of Minutes of Proceedings for the Board's meetings, as well as minutes of the Finance Committee. There are also Annual Reports and Reports of the Sanitary Inspector. The bulk of the collection is made up of agendas and supporting papers collected to be used at the Board's fortnightly meetings. Papers of I G Farben, 1956-1957, relate to the company's use of slave labour and comprise a copy of a letter from I G Farben denying that Salomon Freimann worked for them whilst a concentration camp inmate and a copy of an agreement between I G Farben and the Conference of Jewish Material Claims against Germany, concerning claims arising out of the employment of Jewish concentration camp prisoners in their factories in the region of Auschwitz.

The papers of Siegfried Weiner, early 20th century, comprise a biographical account, written by his daughter; she describes life in Regensburg, Bavaria, the family's the difficulties following their emigration to Palestine, the war of independence and then their return to Regensburg.

Confidential printed orders, 18 Oct 1941, regarding the role of Mischlinge in the Jugenddienst issued by the Jugendführer des Deutschen Reichs to various regional administrations and the heads of various central government ministries. It makes the distinction between Mischlinge 2 Grades (having one Jewish grandparent) and less, who are to be treated as German and Mischlinge 1 Grades (having 2 Jewish grandparents), who are to be placed on 'standby' but under no circumstances to be called up for service.

Order from the Gestapo on the transport of those living in mixed race marriages, (Geltungsjuden), and stateless Jews, for forced labour in Theresienstadt concentration camp, 8 Feb 1945, includes list of the names and addresses of Jews and Geltungsjuden in Herford, suburb of Bielefeld, Germany.

Copy of a letter from the head of a section in the German Foreign Office in Berlin, Wagner to Ernst Kaltenbrunner, Head of Security Police, 5 Jul 1944, containing a German translation of an intercepted telegram from the British Legation in Bern to the British Foreign Office, London. The latter contains an account of the systematic murder of millions of European Jews by the Nazis with particular reference to the fate of the Hungarian Jewish population.

Bro. Dennis G. Perrin containing a detailed description of the context and significance of the above documents.

Papers concerning Nazi war crimes, comprise an unrelated collection of papers which document Nazi war crimes, notably including a copy of a circular letter, with certified English translation, of the inspector of the Sicherheitspolizei and SD regarding the special treatment of foreign workers, 1945; report of a 'work education camp' at Lahde-Weser and Liebenau and certified translations of documents from the Sicherheitspolizei and SD regarding 'special treatment' of resistance movement members at Auschwitz, 1943.

Papers concerning German Jews in Austria, 1933-1934, notably reports of the Österreichischen Hilfskomitee für deutsche Juden, outlining the plight of German Jews in Austria, 1933-1934; correspondence between Lord Melchett and Leo Bakstansky; letter from the Hilfskomitee to the Haut Commissariat pour les réfugiés Provenant d'Allemagne, saying that they cannot continue to give financial support to the refugees from Germany and copy of a letter to the Israelitische Allianz zu Wien saying that the allocations committee of the British Fund for German Jewry cannot make a grant to them, 1934.

Papers of Franz Szell, 1936-1937, comprise an open letter to Alfred Rosenberg, editor of the Völkische Beobachter, 1936; copies of letters to Goering, Göbbels, von Neurath, amongst others regarding Alfred Rosenberg's family history, 1936, and a letter to the Justice Minister, Trygre Lie, Oslo, 1937.

Papers of Hampstead Garden Suburb Care Committee for Refugee Children, 1938-[1939], comprise two alphabetical series of cards detailing the children's particulars and another cancelled series of the same, these are arranged alphabetically and concern German and Austrian Jewish refugee children, many with passport-size photographs attached, [1939]; index cards giving details of sponsors, sometimes specifying a child, 1938; index cards giving name and address of individuals with whom children lodged, including details about children and maintenance costs, [1939] and a Hampstead Garden Suburb Care Committee for Refugee Children form for potential sponsors, [1939].
