Records of the Canadian Pacific Railway Co, comprising Official Logs, 1901 to 1913, originally part of the records of the Registrar-General of Shipping and Seamen, who gave them to the company in 1970. The collection includes log books of three of the 'Empress' line, the Empress of India, the Empress of Japan and the Empress of China as well as of other company ships of the pre-First World War period. Corporate records include minutes of Board meetings and Directors' meetings. It also includes the minutes book of Pelican Caterers Limited, the meetings of which were held at the Cannon Brewery. Staff and accounts records include a salaries ledger and a volume of annual returns. Premises records include documents relating to brewery premises and individual public houses with title deeds and plans, tenancy agreements and documents relating to the transfer of properties with Ind Coope Limited after Cannon Brewery was acquired.

Papers of Sir Benjamin Hallowell Carew. The papers were acquired in several parts. Some loose papers, which came to the Museum in 1934, are of unknown provenance, while Sir James Caird presented a signal book in 1933. A further collection of papers was purchased, covering the period 1812 to 1814 and includes letters, mainly received by Hallowell, and his out-letter drafts. There are a number of documents relating to the Peninsular War, in particular to the siege of Tarragona, 1813, and also a small collection of letters from Sir Edward Codrington (q.v.), 1827 to 1828.

Including architectural sketches and plans, compiled 1820s to 1840s. Some of these notes were later published in the Gentleman's Magazine. The notes appear to have been gathered together and pasted in to these volumes after Carlos' death.

Documents concerning the behaviour of the crowds during the funeral procession of Queen Caroline, 1821, comprising list of statements, with brief notes of contents of each, made by members of Foot Patrole who were obstructed by crowds while on duty on Tuesday 14 August 1821 at Cumberland Gate near Edgware Road, (seven soldiers made statements mainly concerned with minor injuries received during rioting); and statement by George Avis, one of Foot Patrole belonging to the Public Office, Bow Street, of how he saw the crowds behaving at Cumberland Gate, 14 August 1821.

Account book of undertaker Richard Carpender, containing copies of bills for individual funerals, 1764-5; ledger account of purchases such as coffins, coffin-plates, textiles, gloves, feathers, 1746-7; and accounts of corn bought for horse and of the hire of the horse for journeys from London, 1763-6.

Papers of Geoffrey Douglas Hale Carpenter, 1913-1930, comprise a travel diary which records Carpenter and his wife Amy Carpenter née Frances Thomas-Peter's experiences including trips to Uganda for his research on sleeping sickness between 1913 and 1930; diary entries documenting their day to day activities including photographs, pressed flowers, press cuttings, concert programmes and their wedding invitation.

Records of Cartagena Anglican Chaplaincy, Spain comprising: minute books, 1910-27, 1933-6 (Ms 23635); miscellaneous chaplaincy corresponcence, accounts and other papers, 1911-40 (Ms 23636); cash book of the Seamen's Institute, 1913-40 (Ms 23637); and registers of services, baptisms, marriages and burials, 1910-63 (Ms 30863). They were catalogued by members of Guildhall Library staff in 1988 and 1997.

Papers of Philip Carteret, including logs of the Guernsey and Endymion; a letterbook, 1779 to 1780, and a large number of loose papers including letters from Byron and others and various notes on his ships and voyages. The Endymion is the only ship for which there is much material, there being but few notes about his voyages of circumnavigation. His private journals for the years 1779 to 1789 cover the period in considerable detail and there are many letters relating to the movement for the increase in half-pay. The collection includes letters from Carteret's son, Samuel, to his mother, 1794 to 1796, some written from the Expedition at Plymouth, and the remainder from the Mediterranean and the West Indies. There are also letters from his other son, Philip (later Silvester, q.v.), relating to his voyage in the Lion with Lord Macartney's Embassy to China, 1794 to 1796.

Papers of Sir Philip Carteret Silvester, comprising logs, 1792 to 1798, 1801 and 1815 to 1817, letterbooks, 1806 to 1807 and 1811 to 1814, and correspondence, 1792 to 1815, including a series from Sir Erasmus Gower (q.v.), 1792 to 1814. Finally there are papers relating to the family and records of several tours made during his retirement.
