The collection includes research notes articles and pamphlets on many subjects including compasses, navigation, uniform, naval brigades etc. Of interest are his service certificates and career record between 1912-1953, including his training at Dartmouth and Osborne colleges (MAA/77).

Papers of the National Union of Tailors and Garment Workers, including the Amalgamated Society of Tailoresses and the United Clothing Workers' Union, comprising 1. Amalgamated Society of Tailors; 2. London Society of Tailors and Tailoresses (formerly West End Branch of the Amalgamated Society of Tailors and Tailoresses); 3.United Clothing Workers' Union; 4. National Unions of Tailors and Garment Workers.

Records of Peal and Company, bootmakers, 1811-1964. The collection consists of 660 items, 40 of which are administrative records such as account books and ledgers. The remaining 620 volumes are 'Feet Books' recording each order and usually containing an outline drawing of the customer's feet. Every book includes 150 orders and was given a running number. The earliest surviving book is no. 23 from the 1870s and the last is no. 1002 from shortly before the firm closed in 1965.
