None of the agreements or leases survive but the pattern of development can be traced through the accounts of advances for building and the ground rents received for leases.
Building agreements and lease books: These books record cash advances made by Joshua Alexander and his business partner William Bradshaw under building agreements for the development of their various estates. When leases were granted of newly erected houses, ground rents received under them were likewise recorded. Apart from including names of lessees and addresses of property leased, the books are heavily annotated with references to court proceedings, assignments of interests and other actions necessary for administrating estates. Each book is indexed under names of tenants.
Rentals: These record the payment of ground rents by lessee of houses on the various estates described above. Each rental is arranged by estate and contains name and address of lessee or assignee, address of property rented, amount of ground rent due and summaries of totals..
Letter books: family and personal letters. Copies of letters from Lionel Alexander of personal and family nature, many concerning involvement with Jewish institutions, charities and general affairs, also copies of letters to press and articles.

Ardale School x Stepney Cottage HomesVolumes relating to Art and Architecture. Of the six volumes in this class four relate to Greenwich Hospital; one contains the Royal Warrant of 1696 granting site for the building, followed by plans and elevations. The other three contain copies of prints, plans and drawings of the building, grounds and locality compiled by Robert Mylne (1734-1811) while Clerk of the Works in 1793; they include a series of plans showing the state of construction in 1728, and others variously dated, 1734 to 1791. There is also an architect's notebook, 1694 to 1700, possibly belonging to Nicholas Hawksmoor (1661-1736); and the sketchbook of Coote Carroll Nelson in HMS JAVA, 1826, in South-East Asia, which includes cartoons of life on board as well as coastlines and sketches of local craft and people.

Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists , RCOGPapers of Esmond Burton, c 1955, comprise seven plaster miniatures of working men and women prepared by sculptor Edmond Burton, relating to the bas-reliefs on the three frontages of Bentham House, residence of the Faculty of Laws at University College London. The buidling was originally the headquarters of the General and Municipal Workers' Union (now part of GMB), and was designed by Hubert Lidbetter. Fourteen black and white photographs of the bas-reliefs and construction of the building. Note that the right-hand figure in the 'group of five' photograph is Hubert Lidbetter.

Chadwick TrustThe papers are very extensive though there are some lacunae, probably attributable to Chain's many changes of workplace. The early biographical period is sparsely documented, there are sporadic gaps in the correspondence files, and there is no original documentation of the penicillin research at Oxford (although there are many historical accounts and much correspondence about the history of penicillin). The surviving biographical material provides documentation of the arrangements for Chain to live and work in Britain, later honours and awards and his musical interests, and family correspondence, photographs and press-cuttings. There are very substantial records of his later career at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità and Imperial College, London, including his continuing contributions to biochemical problems such as carbohydrate metabolism, ergot alkaloids, edible proteins and aeration studies. The Imperial College material also contains records of the creation, administration, finance and architectural design of the Biochemistry Department, and developments in the Department after Chain's statutory retirement in 1973. Additional information about Chain's research is available in the documentation of his very extensive consultancy agreements and collaborative work with industrial firms such as Astra, Beechams and Rank Hovis McDougall, and records relating to government, grant-giving and charitable bodies such as the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research Campaign and Medical Research Council which contributed to the funding of his research. There is much material on Chain's lectures, addresses and broadcasts, and on his extensive travel on visits and conferences, which includes a substantial number of unpublished talks.
An exceptional feature of the Chain papers is the documentation of the large number of Israel and Jewish organisations with which he was associated, especially the Weizmann Institute of Science, where he was a governor for many years and had at one time considered taking up an appointment.
