Records of the Worshipful Company of Painter Stainers. Court minutes begin in 1623, freedom admission registers in 1658 and apprentice binding books in 1660. The records were compiled between 1623 and 1973, but they include deeds from 1423. Collection also includes financial records and records of charitable payments.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ACCESS: These records are stored at the Guildhall Library site rather than the LMA Clerkenwell site. Researchers wishing to access these records should do so at the Guildhall Library Rare Books table. The Library is open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 to 16:45. Records of the Royal Choral Society. The archive is divided into seven sections: administrative records, including a series of individual concert files; financial records; membership records, which include attendance registers and audition files; concert records and programmes; publicity records including posters and newspaper cuttings; files of printed musical scores, arranged by piece, and including programmes for concerts featuring the work; miscellaneous records, which comprise information and programmes relating to other choirs, magazines of the society, or which include articles on the society or choral singing in general, and photographs of choir members, soloists and conductors.

Highlights of the collection include a comprehensive, although not complete, series of concert programmes from 1873-1985, including the programme for the last concert to be held in the Queen's Hall before its destruction during World War II. There are also manuscript copies of "Eryri" by Alun Hoddinott. This piece was composed for the investiture of the Prince of Wales in 1969 and the collection has a copy both of the original score, for 16 soloists, chorus and orchestra, and the revised version for baritone solo, chorus and orchestra.

This collection consists of architectural drawings (on paper) of Kneller Hall, Twickenham, by George Mair, 1844-1848. The drawings of both First and Second Series bear the signatures: 'J.P. Kay Shuttleworth' and 'John Kelk'. In addition to the signatures all the drawings bear, in Kay-Shuttleworth's hand and following his signature, a date: 'Feb. 8. 1848' in the case of the First Series, and 'June 17 1848' in the case of Second Series. All the drawings bear, near Mair's inscription, the number 51/1844, which is perhaps his commission number or 'job number'. Moreover, all the drawings bear a circular stencilled stamp reading '1861 R.E. Office London' enclosing a number (either 6, 7, or 12).

Drawings in the First Series are all scaled 1 inch to 10 ft. They are all signed; 'Geo. Mair, architect, 18 Charlotte Street, Bedford Sq, London'. Most have original legends which contain clear indication that they relate to proposed alterations to an existing building. Drawings include: basement plan; ground plan; first floor plan; second floor plan; plan of roofs; entrance elevation; back elevation and side elevation.

Drawings of the Second Series show a very substantially altered building as compared with that depicted in the First Series. They are all signed: 'Geo. Mair, archt., May 1848'. Drawings include: plan of footing and drains; basement plan; ground plan; first floor plan; second floor plan; plan of roofs; north elevation; east elevation; west elevation showing additional buildings over the offices; transverse section C-D on plans and longitudinal section A-B.

Alfred Yockney was an art writer and curator primarily associated with West End galleries and art publishers. This collection consists mainly of his correspondence with artists and members of the art world as part of his work as the editor of Art Journal and as secretary to the British War Memorials Committee. It also contains numerous sets of notes about artists as preparation for articles. The collection includes printed leaflets and extracts from exhibition catalogues and newspapers.

Virginia Nimarkoh's Indent project (1999) examined contemporary artists' relationship to collaboration and self-publishing as a mode of critique. The archive is comprised of a collection of printed matter including preview cards, comics, flyers and posters by BANK, Grennan and Sperandio, Inventory, Mute and Emma Rushton and Derek Tyman, compiled by Virginia Nimarkoh.
