Manuscript volume written by Edward Burnell entitled 'Epitome ecclesiastice historie Nicephori calisti'. The Epitome, in its imperfect state, extends as far as the time of Justinian, Emperor of the East. The manuscript is illustrated throughout with many marginal pen-drawings of the persons and events dealt with. At the head of the title-page is an inaccurate attempt to reproduce the arms of Philip and Mary, King and Queen of England. The ecclesiastical arms at the foot of the page (repeated on folio 80) have not been identified.

Edward Burra was an English painter, illustrator and stage designer. This collection includes a wide variety of material reflecting Burra's eclectic interests. There is a small amount of correspondence; artwork including sketchbooks and mounted pages from sketchbooks; and proof illustrations for Humbert Woolfe's 'ABC of Theatre'. There are photographs of some of Burra's stage designs; material sent to Burra by Paul Nash; and a wide range of presscuttings, some relating to Burra, others collected out of interest. The two card indexes of books were made at the time of the inventory of his possessions at his home, soon after his death. Many of the books and other printed items are stored in the Tate Library. There is also a collection of Burra's 78s, jazz, blues, swing, Latin American and Spanish records. There is a further collection of Burra's papers, notebooks, diaries, artworks, photographs, exhibition catalogues, sound recordings and postcards at TGA 939.

The buidling was originally the headquarters of the General and Municipal Workers' Union (now part of GMB), and was designed by Hubert Lidbetter. Fourteen black and white photographs of the bas-reliefs and construction of the building. Note that the right-hand figure in the 'group of five' photograph is Hubert Lidbetter.

The minutes reflect the association's preoccupation with its role as a public relations body, and with issues affecting its membership, such as VAT or decimalisation. Issues discussed reflect the changing commercial climate, illustrating the increased use of microelectronic technology, although individual products are seldom mentioned unless they are the subject of a dispute. Considerable time is also given over to general internal and administrative matters, and to the continued examination of BETA's aims and activities. Two divisional minute books provide a taste of the activities of the association's sections. Council working papers and correspondence include duplicate minutes of council meetings, reports to council on executive committee meetings, press cuttings, and correspondence relating to association luncheons.
