Papers of the Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust. This collection consists of wide ranging material which documents the creation of Hampstead Garden Suburb and its growth and development during the twentieth century.

The records refer to the Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust's activities; the family papers of Samuel and Henrietta Barnett; the suburb organisations; the suburb recreational socities; the Henrietta Barnett school; the Institute; and the Wellgarth Nursery Training College. There are printed sources and oral history sources which can be referred to.

This collection contains a significant number of plans: plans of the suburb; plans of licence applications for proposed alterations; area plans of the suburb; and RIBA photographs of Lutyens drawings for the church.

There is also a large collection of photographs. These include subjects related to the suburb as well as images of the suburb itself.

Letters from Iris Murdoch to Hal Lidderdale dating from 1945 to 1990s. Lidderdale was a friend of Murdoch's from Oxford where they were students together, and they remained in touch until Lidderdale's death. Topics covered in the letters include Murdoch's work following the Second World War with the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA), meeting with Jean Paul Sartre, her brief engagement to David Hicks, and her later work and travels.

A photographic collection contains images relating to the history of the College and examples of students' work, 1910s-ongoing, including over 5,000 prints; a separately administered photographic record of student work contains c40,000 slides of installation shots of student work exhibited in the degree shows, 1961-1978 (incomplete), 1979-2002 (complete), and upwards of 60,000 born-digital images, 2003-ongoing.

School project by Gerda Nabe on Nazism, 1935-1936. The project begins by reporting the elections in Saarland, when the residents chose to revert back to Germany again and provides a history of the region and its people. It goes on to commemorate the deaths of fallen Nazi 'heroes'. It then marks the date that Hitler became Chancellor, going on to list his 'achievements' to 1935, including withdrawal from the League of Nations, introduction of new army regulations and build up of the airforce. The remaining work is a chronological listing of dates significant to the Nazi calendar, illustrated by descriptions of the most important such as the 'shameful' Treaty of Versailles; the infamous Nuremberg rally and the founding of the Nazi party. Noteworthy is the illustration of the Nuremberg Laws in the form of a family diagram depicting the levels of purity and 'mixedness', for which she received the top mark.

Papers of Rickman Godlee as a student comprising notes of lectures given by Thomas Huxley, sketches of anatomical dissections, and volume on surgery for the anniversary of University College London, 1867-1924.

The collection comprises lectures on scientific subjects delivered by Lillie at the Mechanics' Institutes of Launceston and Hobart, Tasmania.

Wandle School records: The first series contains several admissions registers and one volume containing school records. These volumes are closed. The second series is comprised of miscellaneous papers such as letters from old pupils, a copy of the Inspectors report on the school in 1959, and papers relating to the history of the school used to organise an exhibition in 2004.

The collection is contains material relating to Spencer Park school including copies of the school magazine, papers outlining the history of the school and the Royal Victoria Patriotic Asylum site, prospectuses, photographs, newspaper cuttings, programmes and various other items. There are no administrative records for the school in the collection. Papers of John M Wrigglesworth, 1963-1985, comprise records reflecting his role at Chelsea College, as Chair of the Association of University Teachers (AUT) and reflect his commitment to the College and biochemistry. The collection notably includes material regarding the threat of College closure (it eventually merged with King's College in 1985), including a copy of the petition by members of Chelsea College acting through the AUT, regarding six resolutions affecting the future structure and activities of the College, [1982]; the answer of the College to the petition of some of its members concerning the discontinuance of certain academic departments, [1982]; typewritten results of a College assembly regarding the proposed closure of the Liberal Education Department, 1982; correspondence between Laurie Sapper of the AUT and Norman M Waldron of the Chemistry Department of Chelsea College, regarding a petition concerning redundancy.

The collection also includes minutes of the Senate, October 1981-February 1982; Chelsea College of Science and Technology, 1963, a history of the College and its departments and a typewritten list of research degrees awarded in Biochemistry at Chelsea College, arranged by year of award. Also including two black and white photographs of groups of people, one inscribed 'Some aspects of modern biochemistry!!', the reverse of the photograph reads 'Swinburne, Stevens, Prenton, Howalt and David Peg', the second 'Stevenson, Martin, Jean, Spencer, Mrs Beard, Miss Young from Lyn Fitschen'.

The papers of William Lishman, [1980-1997], comprising material relating to 3rd edition of Organic Psychiatry, an interview with Lishman and papers relating to a training pack on neuropsychiatry. The collection includes inserts, galley proofs and a copy of the 2nd edition of Organic Psychiatry all used in Lishman's rewriting for the 3rd edition of Organic Psychiatry, published in 1997 with several drafts of a section on Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), the largest addition to the 3rd edition. Also includes interview with Lishman on his life and career and papers relating to the Neuropsychiatry training pack including the pack itself and papers of its writer, Dr Steven Church, relating to its creation.
