Papers of Esmond Burton, c 1955, comprise seven plaster miniatures of working men and women prepared by sculptor Edmond Burton, relating to the bas-reliefs on the three frontages of Bentham House, residence of the Faculty of Laws at University College London. The buidling was originally the headquarters of the General and Municipal Workers' Union (now part of GMB), and was designed by Hubert Lidbetter. Fourteen black and white photographs of the bas-reliefs and construction of the building. Note that the right-hand figure in the 'group of five' photograph is Hubert Lidbetter.

Underdown ecclesiastical architecture and design collection, c 1760-1901, (bought from H. W. Underdown) includes: reproduction of print of Witham Friary (1760); print of drawing by Catton of Cromer, 1798; plate of engravings of arms and seals of Prior and Convent of St Saviour, Bermondsey, 1821; drawing of brass monument in North Mimms church (1823); photolithographs of monumental brasses in Norfolk and Westminster Abbey (1890s). Collection also includes prints of J. M. W. Turner watercolours painted at Farnley Hall.

Papers of John Urpeth Rastrick including memoranda, calculations and diagrams, including estimates for iron arch for Stratford-upon-Avon Railway Bridge; for a roof for William Foster; gasworks at Kidderminster; recipe for brass lacquer; lists of materials of six-horse Boulton and Watts engine, and of the contents of packing boxes, with diagrams of each item entered; notes, specifications and sketches for the Stratford and Moreton Railway; and detailed descriptions, statistics and sketches of bridges, railways and engines. Enclosing the following items: (i-ii) 2 sheets of rough calculations. (iii) Card bearing printed statistics of the Burnton and Shields Railway; annotated in MS and signed by Benjamin Thompson (23 January 1829). (iv) Printed wrapper sent from the Office of Ordnance to Messrs J Bradley and Co, [?at] Foster, Rastrick and Co Ironworks, Stourbridge; used for rough calculations and draft accounts in MS.

'Specification for rebuilding London Bridge to the design of the late John Rennie, Esq'. Dated at the Guildhall, 5 Dec 1823. Belonged to John Urpeth Rastrick but may not have been created by him.

Two manuscript volumes containing accounts of John Carte of Ampthill, giving details of work done as a glazier, and, less frequently, as a plumber and decorator, 1793-1811. Customers are named, as are their places of residence, mostly in the immediate vicinity of Ampthill. Inserted loosely are four bills addressed to Carte for plumbing equipment and glass supplied from Birmingham and London, 1810-1815.
