Photocopies of 13 letters, 1882-1899, from Alexander Russell to his sister, Barbara Russell, recounting trips on missionary and other vessels in the South Pacific, including visits to Sydney (Australia) and Fiji.

Manuscript volume containing a draft of a petition of the inhabitants of Russell Street, London, 'whose houses were burnt and blowne up and that lost their goods by the late fire that began in the Theatre Royal' to the Justices of the Peace at Hicks Hall, 1672. The document also contains a list of the men appointed to examine the petitioners, and a list of the petitioners and the value of their losses in goods and property.

Collection of autograph letters, 1756-1849, brought together by Lord Odo Russell. The correspondents are mainly European scientists, including Nikolaus Joseph and his son Joseph Franz Freiherr von Jacquin, both Professor of Chemistry and Botany at Vienna University; the zoologist Leopold Joseph Franz Johann Fitzinger; and the botanist István Laszló Endlicher. The letters concern the natural sciences, the medical sciences, the physical sciences, the arts, theology, dealers, diplomats and statesmen, and others. There is also a note from Beethoven (post 1824) and a letter from Goethe (1807).

Papers of Henry Nathaniel Rumsey, 1786-1787, comprising 4 volumes of manuscript notes by Rumsey titled A Course of Lectures on Surgery by Mr John Hunter, Surgeon to St George's Hospital, 1786, taken at lectures on surgery by John Hunter.

Notes from the lectures of George Fordyce at his house in Essex Street, Strand, for a period extending over 30 years on subjects including clinical lectures, acute diseases, chemistry, chronic diseases, diseases of women and children, materia medica and the natural history of the human body. Transcribed, mainly from short-hand notes, by Henry Rumsey, one of his pupils, 1785-1787.

Papers relating to his naval career, [1920-1959], dated [1920-1959], 1985, principally comprising photographs, [1919-1933], notably of the evacuation of [White] Russian refugees, Black Sea, 1919-1920, and of HMS NELSON, West Indies and Panama, 1929-1931, and HMS GANGES, 1931-1933.

Late 14th century manuscript volume: Benediktinerregel (Rule of St Benedict), divided into 73 chapters (numbered in error as 72), each chapter consisting of a passage in Latin followed by the German translation. There are some ink sketches of monks (ff 6r, 37v, 38r, 82v) and one sketch of an abbot standing before a table (f 71r). The front cover bears a strip of parchment with the inscription: 'Regula Benedictj / Jn Theutunice'. The volume also contains a list of monastic orders with descriptions of the characteristic dress of each order (ff 94r-94v); the text of regulations, in Latin, containing many quotations from the Latin Rule (f 95r-97ra); and the later inscription 'Jste liber p[er]tinet ad mo[na]ste[r]iu[m] ot[e]nbure[n] (this book belongs to the monastery of Ottobeuren) (f 104r).

Records of rukus! Federation Limited, referred to by rukus! as the 'rukus! Black, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (BLGBT) cultural archive' consisting of collected diaries, letters, minutes and related papers, magazines, pamphlets, flyers, posters, journals, books, photographs and prints, audio-visual material, memorabilia and ephemera. Records relate to individuals including activists, DJs, club promoters, writers, artists and magazine publishers; community organisations; and subjects including sexual heath, black lesbians and women and night clubs.

The records cover mainly London-based individuals and activities where the largest proportion of the BLGBT community has been based in the United Kingdom, but also documents the community on national to international scale, for example with reference to initiatives in Nigeria in Africa and New York, United States of America.

The collection also includes the records of rukus! Federation Limited, dating from 2000-2010 (catalogue sub-section references LMA/4571/01 - LMA/4571/03) including foundation papers, minutes, campaign letters, event and project material including programmes, flyers, photographs, recordings and press coverage, and general publicity concerning the organisation. Records include correspondence, recordings, photography event printed material and other papers.

• Topher Campbell, records dating from 1994-2010 (catalogue sub-section reference LMA/4571/05) concerning the films he produced under Gorgeous Films including 'The Homecoming: A Short Film About Ajamu' (1996), events relating to his theatre and film company The Red Room, his involvement in London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival and other activities. Material includes flyers, audio-visual material, photographs and press articles.

The records in the 'rukus! Black, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (BLGBT) cultural archive' (LMA/4571/06) largely consist of collected material organised by rukus! and arranged by individual, organisation, subject or format. Diary entries include personal daily thoughts and occurrences, his attendance at Huddersfield College, attending popular and gay events in northern England.
