Papers of William Blair-Bell, 1909-1938, relating to a range of professional subjects, including Blair-Bell's cancer research work (particularly his use of lead) and the wider organisation of cancer research; the Liverpool Medical Research Organisation; the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the British Empire Publishing Company; the British Congresses of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (BCOG); and Blair-Bell's nursing home and practice in Rodney Street. It also contains papers and correspondence concerning Eardiston, Blair-Bell's country estate near Oswestry; Rossall School, Preston, which Blair-Bell attended as a pupil and on whose council he later served; his wife's memorial in the church of St Chad's Haughton, Shropshire; and other personal matters. Only a small amount of material is concerned with the founding of the BCOG. Some pieces contain confidential medical records about individual patients.

Professional papers relating to Byrne's work as a General Practitioner, consisting of diaries and correspondence, 1947-80, material relating to his work at Manchester, 1960-78, in the Department of General Practice, which he was fundamental in establishing in 1968, including lecture notes, reports, speeches made to external bodies to promote the work of the Department, and material relating to his Chair, 1972-78, papers relating to the Royal College of General Practitioners, 1964-76, including papers relating to the committees on which he sat, including the Education Committee and the Board of Censors, and material relating to the duties undertaken during his presidency, 1973-76, correspondence with faculties of the College and other General Practice colleges worldwide, reports and correspondence relating to other commitments, 1946-86, such as the Leeuwenhorst Group and the local and regional medical advisory committees on which he sat, lecture notes and related correspondence from visits made abroad.

Biographic material includes personal notes, financial papers, correspondence relating to his award of OBE and CBE, and photographs.

Papers, 1865-1974, of and relating to (Ethel) Constance Cousins, including correspondence with her family, photographs, press cuttings and the unpublished typescript biography by her niece Janet E. Cousins. Also includes letters dated 1893-1900 from her father, Rev. William Edward Cousins, chiefly from Madagascar.

Papers of William Allen Daley, 1903-1913, comprise awards and photographs relating to Daley's medical career and achievements. The collection contains medals awarded to Daley, relating to his medical achievements, notably the George Holt Medal, Physiology, University of Liverpool, 1907 (Daley/01/03); photographs and illustrations, including images of staff within various institutions, notably including a photograph of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth with a small party including Daley, 1940s (Daley/02/05) and certificates, acknowledging his professional qualifications and additional achievements including his Fellowship of Royal Society of Health, 1926 (Daley/03/06).

Records of the Insurance Committee for the County of London, 1912-1948, and the Inner London Executive Council, 1948-1974. The records consist of bound, printed minutes which include agenda, reports and appendices for both the Insurance Committee for the County of London, the Inner London Executive council and its constituent committees and joint committees. Most of the series of minutes are complete.

The collection comprises prescriptions issued by Kellgren at various institutes for Swedish medical gymnastics; namely, the Schwedisches Heilgymnastisches Institut in Gotha, Germany (MSS.5406-5407 and 7869), the Schwedisches Institut für Manuelle Behandlung der Krankheiten, Baden-Baden (MS.7872), the Swedish Institution for the Cure of Diseases by Manual Treatment, London (MSS.5408 and 7870), the Institutet för Manuel Sjukbehandling, Sanna, near Jönköping, Sweden (MS.5409), and the Institution Suèdoise pour le Traitement Manuel des Maladies, Paris (MS.7871). Patients include members of the nobility of the United Kingdom and of Germany, as well as members of the Kellgren and Cyriax families.

Papers of the Malaria Research Laboratory, 1939-1967, relate to the work of the laboratory and the collation of data concerning documented cases of malaria within Britain. The collection notably includes correspondence and other documentation between P G Shute and G Covell, Assistant Director and Director of the Laboratory, and various hospitals and other medical institutions regarding blood films examined by the Laboratory for malarial parasites, 1939-1963; Public Health Laboratory Service yearly reports of malaria cases, 1954-1966 and annual reports of the Malaria Research Laboratory, 1957-1967.
