The record covers memorials, metalwork, stonework, woodwork, textiles, paintings, library records, windows and tiling, clocks, musical instruments and lighting. It also includes a list of records (baptisms, marriages and burials) deposited at Lewisham Local History Library.

Papers of the London Branch of the Anti Apartheid Movement. The records are wide ranging and include minutes, reports, memoranda and correspondence, as well as publications and more ephemeral material documenting the many events and demonstrations organised by the movement. Although the collection relates specifically to the local and regional groups for the London area, the papers are equally concerned with the wider business of the movement, at both the national and international levels. Records of the Annual General Meetings, the National Committee and the Executive Committee are held as well as material from the London Committee and papers of local anti apartheid groups. The papers of David Kenvyn, chairperson of the London Committee and secretary of Redbridge Apartheid Group, reflect the regional and local activities of the movement, while papers from related organisations illustrate the extent to which the movement worked in partnership with other bodies.

As at Jan 2009, The Women's Library held approximately 562 badges in the Museum Collection, with c 200 additional badges identified in the archives.

The earliest badges held in The Women's Library were produced by women's suffrage campaigns, organisations represented include: the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies, the Women's Social and Political Union, Women's Freedom League, and faith-based organisations such as the Catholic Women's Suffrage Society and the Jewish League for Women's Suffrage.

In addition, the collection contains women's liberation movement and contemporary badges dating from the 1970s to the present day. It includes a selection of badges produced by women's anti-nuclear and peace organisations, campaigns against male violence, pro-choice (abortion) organisations and lesbian support and campaigning groups.

A small number of modern women's campaigning jewellery items, such as earrings and pendants that are currently stored in this collection.

Papers of the Birth Control Campaign (BCC), 1971-1977, including papers relating to Parliamentary action on wider provision of male sterilisation (vasectomy), free provision of contraception under the NHS, and general improved NHS facilities for contraception, abortion and sterilisation. There is also a large section of press cuttings, and files relating to the internal organisation of the campaign, various attempts to promote and publicise its aims, and relations with other bodies in connected fields.

Personal papers of Lionel and Pansy Jeffrey, political activists and race equality campaigners, including material from various organisations and committees including minutes, correspondence, brochures, newsletters, academic papers, draft speeches and reports.

Personal records of Eric and Jessica Huntley relating to non-publishing businesses, political campaigns, community and heritage initiatives, education work, concerns with the environment in the Caribbean and papers relating to their personal lives including family and friends.

Records of the Southwark and Lambeth Group of the Campaign for Homosexual Equality. The records reflect a number of issues being dealt with by gay rights campaigners in the '70s including the trial of Gay News for blasphemy, the fight against fascism, and an involvement in women's and lesbian rights. Local matters touched on in the papers include the branch's deliberation over joining the Southwark Campaign against Rascism and Fascism, and application for recognition by the national council.

Records of the Casual Club, 1866-2007, including minutes, papers and correspondence concerning administrative issues, membership cards, members' directories, attendance books, subscription books, papers and correspondence concerning members, lecture material, photographs of members, account books, papers and correspondence relating to accounts, printed histories of the club, meetings' programmes and an engraved gavel.

Records of Gerald Kremenstein, including committee and related records of the Harrow and Brent Lesbian and Gay Group collected by Gerald Kay as Committee member, and event material, the earliest items from 1971. These include flyers, tickets, badges and membership cards for Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) London-based clubs, events and groups which Gerald Kay attended. Highlights include papers relating to the Jewish Gay and Lesbian Group (JGLG) and St Katharine's Group, and a visit to United States of America.

These records were catalogued under supervision of Richard Wiltshire, Senior Archivist by Zaida Tavares, volunteer as part of the Speakout London - Diversity City project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and based at London Metropolitan Archives.

All the political parties materials currently held here originate from TANU or Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM), reflecting their political dominance, and cover such issues as the Arusha declaration of 1967 (which laid out Nyerere's vision for Tanzania's development - an African mixture of socialism and village communal life), agricultural policy and foreign affairs (Nyerere was a committed Pan-Africanist who provided support for exiled groups such as the ANC, PAC and FRELIMO). Records of the Hornchurch Constituency Labour Party, also known as the Hornchurch Divisional Labour Party. The collection includes Executive Committee minutes; General Management Committee minutes; North West Ward Hornchurch Labour Party Women's Section Committee minutes; financial accounts; newsletters; election addresses; annual reports and press cuttings.

Records of the Victorian Society. The collection principally contains case files compiled by the Society's Buildings Sub-Committee and relating to individual buildings for which listed building consent or statutory listing was sought. Remaining items comprise lists of members and a small selection of early printed items about the Society and its activities.

The case-files provide contextual information regarding the discussions and decisions of the Victorian Society over individual buildings. They contain useful information for researching conservation and planning issues surrounding these buildings. Their primary value however is in recording the workings of the Society itself and the personalities and opinions of its members. With the records of English Heritage (also held at London Metropolitan Archives), local planning authorities, and other voluntary bodies (such as the Georgian Group, Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, and the Twentieth Century Society), this collection could help compile a comprehensive study into building conservation in England and Wales in the second half of the 20th century generally.

The case-file series is incomplete (some files have been destroyed while others have been retained by the Society) and other principal records of the Society, such as minutes of the Council and of the Buildings Sub-Committee and issues of The Victorian magazine have not been deposited. The membership lists contain personal information about members and access to these files is restricted.

Although based in London, the Society acted in the interest of buildings throughout Great Britain. There are a few instances where buildings overseas where also drawn to the Society's attention. The Society was not solely concerned with the exterior of buildings. It attributed importance to interior decoration and furnishings, and to commemorative monuments and street furniture erected broadly within the Victorian and Edwardian periods.

The collection is rich in information about the Society. As well as recording the Society's cause celbres it also includes a large number of smaller Buildings and structures. It covers the Houses of Parliament and Tower Bridge at one end of the scale and street lamps in Cambridge and fonts in churches at the other.

Papers of Lesbian London Publications, producers of the Lesbian London newsletter. The archive includes a file of over a hundred completed (anonymous) survey forms, relating to lifestyle, relationships and feedback on Lesbian London (LMA/4540/03/007). Other papers include minutes; correspondence; press releases; financial accounts; papers relating to advertising; issues of the newsletter and photographs.
