Research notes of William McMurray, antiquarian, comprising: notes for a history of St Anne and St Agnes with St John Zachary; notes on parish clerks; extracts from various parish registers and churchwardens' accounts; lists of signs in London; extracts from diocesan and other sources; and notebooks concerning various antiquarian matters.

The collection covers both Pettigrew's medical and antiquarian activities, which are intermingled in the material's arrangement. The medical items include correspondence with many medical figures, medical jurisprudence (an Anniversary Oration delivered to the Medical Society of London), corpulence, hydrophobia, medical observations by army officers in India, and an autobiographical memoir of the philanthropist and prison-reformer James Neild (1744-1814), transcribed by Pettigrew and incorporated into his life of John Coakley Lettsom M.D. The antiquarian items include material on Kett's Rebellion, Hindu deities, the library of the Duke of Sussex and correspondence with the Italian antiquary Giovanni Spano (1803-1878) and Gaetano Cara, as part of Pettigrew's role as Vice-President of the British Archaeological Society. Types of material held include notebooks, loose papers, correspondence and diplomas.

Notebooks of Alexander Kinloch Forbes, historian of Gujarat, containing notes on Gujarati history, legends and customs, pedigrees, descriptions of historical monuments and translations of inscriptions, compiled from 1849 onwards. The volumes are the remains of a larger body of research materials gathered by Forbes, from which he compiled Râs Mâlâ, Hindu annals of Western India with particular reference to Gujarat (1856). They contain however much additional matter, and indeed Forbes continued to add to them after publication of that work.

Papers of Alfred Pollard, 1884-1948, including contains personal correspondence from Alfred Pollard, primarily to his parents and his secretary, E. J. Davis (1884-1925, 9 boxes). There are also letters from Pollard's father, Henry, primarily to his son (1885-1924, 4 boxes). These letters give a valuable insight into the development of Alfred's historical and political opinions as well as providing an account of domestic circumstances in the Pollard family. The remainder of the papers relate to Alfred's academic and University of London activities. These papers contain correspondence and printed items, and span the length of his academic life. Key phases and activities recorded in the papers include: Alfred's achievements during his own university education; contributions to the Dictionary of National Biography; involvement with the Committee of the League of Nations, the Historical Association, the Institute of Historical Research, the University of London's Academic Council, the Anglo-American Conference of Historians, University College London, the London History School, Victoria County History, Committee of the History of Parliament; and his candidature for the London Liberal Federation for the University of London constituency. Correspondence and papers of Bellot. The papers represent and illustrate the activities of Bellot's academic life as well as his personal one. There are letters to his family describing his schooldays at Bedales School up to his involvement with University College, Ibadan and his appointment to the Vice Chancellorship of the University of London.

The papers can be divided into three series: papers relating to his involvement in teaching and governance at the University of London, his personal papers that document his relationship with his fellow historians and his family; and papers created in the process of his historical research.

The official papers include case-files relating to: academic policy, University College, Ibadan, Westfield College, Senate committees, Board of Study in History at the University of London, Higher Education in Africa, and Library Policy.

His personal papers include: correspondence (1898-1968) with fellow historians (such as Albert Frederick Pollard, Thomas Frederick Tout, Robert Arthur Humphreys and J.E. Neale), members of his family, and other friends and acquaintances; family photographs; newspaper-cuttings; domestic account-books; diaries, records of his activities at Lincoln College; curriculum vitae; and travel notebooks.

The papers documenting Bellot's academic activities and historical research include: drafts, off-prints and notes for various works, including some unpublished; correspondence with his publisher, The Athlone Press; bibliographical and lecture notes; and the obligatory historical notes on areas of American History, economics and obituaries.

These records were compiled or annotated by Samuel Gregory in the mid-19th century. They comprise: the "Lord Mayor's autograph book" which contains the original signature of every Lord Mayor from 1657 to the present date; notes and cuttings relating to Lord Mayors, Chamberlains, Recorders and aldermen; history and notes relating to liverymen of the Barber Surgeons Company; drawings of merchants' marks; and miscellaneous manuscript and printed items compiled by Gregory.

Papers relating to the Claire Rayner novels The Performers, a twelve book series about London which traces a family from the 1800s. The series contains draft manuscripts of each volume along with research, time lines and notes on political events, dress, religion, travel, medicine, foreign affairs, industry and agriculture covering the period during which the novels are set.

This collection comprises slides used by Ivor Pfuell in his lectures on the history and development of London. The slides were collected during the 1970s and 1980s, although they depict London locations and landmarks through the ages.

Papers of Donald Macmillan comprise a typescript document entitled Rudolf Hess: Enigma - 1941 by Donald Macmillan, 1980, on the arrival of Rudolf Hess in Scotland, May 1941, which Macmillan witnessed while serving in the Highland Light Infantry.

Circa 5000 books collected by Vane Ivanovic. The strength of the library is books on 20th Century Balkan history and books on the Second World War, although there are books on a number of other subjects including the history of the Olympic Games and Spear-fishing. There are also a small number of books pre-dating 1900, going back to the 1490s. The vast majority of books are in English, although a small number are in other Western European languages or Serbo-Croat.
