Biographical history
The International Society for Interferon and Cytokine Research (ISICR) is a non-profit organization of over 650 scientists devoted to research in the fields of interferon, cytokine and chemokine cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry and the clinical use of these biological response modifiers. Each year the ISICR sponsors an international meeting where scientists can present their latest findings to the world-wide scientific community.

This collection was put together by the Archives Committee of the International Society for Interferon and Cytokin Research under the chairmanship of Norman Finter, which solicited contributions from individuals who have played a role in interferon research.

The first accession, no 734, was given to the Contemporary Medical Archives Centre in October 1997. Additional accessions were received by the Wellcome Library in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2007, from Norman Finter, Jean Lindenmann and Robert M Friedman
Personal accounts on the development of interferon and cytokine research, mainly written in the 1990s and early 2000s, and related materials including photographs correspondence, slides, offprints and other papers.

The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
Photocopies/photographs/microfilm are supplied for private research only at the Archivist's discretion. Please note that material may be unsuitable for copying on conservation grounds, and that photographs cannot be photocopied in any circumstances. Readers are restricted to 100 photocopies in twelve months. Researchers who wish to publish material must seek copyright permission from the copyright owner.
